Introduction

We will talk about the traditions and customs of South Korea, a country which has many customs
to show respect for society, thus with the way of eating, zero physical contact, rejecting alcohol in
a meeting, etc.

South Korea has a custom in which different countries are disrespectful or simply do not.

Developing

In South Korea it is very frowned upon to wave, the greeting is by means of a bow but not just
depends on the age of the person you are greeting, for example to a child it is a bow of 10 or 20
degrees, if You are with a person of the same age or approximately it is a bow of about 30 or 40
degrees, but be careful when you greet an older person, the bow should be 60 degrees since it
reflects the respect you have for that person for being older, also Koreans are not very expressive
and they do not like physical contact very much, kissing and hugging in public is not very well seen
in Korea, even more if they are with friends since it is considered disrespectful. Couples will have
to do it in their private moments.
You don't usually talk much while you eat, the conversation should be left for later, in Mexico
while we eat we have a brief talk but in Korea it is very bad education to do so.

It is very rude to refuse alcohol even more if it is offered to you by an older person. Alcohol can
also serve you and it is polite to return the gesture as a courtesy.

When you enter your home in South Korea, take off your shoes and do not forget to do it at
someone else's house as it is very frowned upon in Korean education.

One of the traditions in the names is that most Koreans carry one of the few surnames that are
already established: Kim (represents 21% of the entire Korean population), Yi (Lee or Rhee 14%),
Park ( or pak, 8%) Choi (or Choe), Jeong (or Chung), Jang (or Chang), Han, Lim, etc. Korean names
generally consist of a one-syllable surname and a two-syllable name . The last name precedes the
first name.

The Korean woman does not adopt her husband's last name when hunting: but the children bear
only the father's last name. In Mexico it is the paternal last name and then the maternal one and
the wife acquires the husband's last name only if she wishes it in South Korea only the paternal
last name is allowed and the wife does not acquire the husband's last name.

Conclusion

In South Korea and other countries they handle traditions and customs in which they are unique
since they can be prohibited, disrespectful in other countries, tradition and customs are what
make a country unique, some adapt the traditions of another and some They simply reject them,
we must bear in mind that if we want to travel to a country we have to study the culture, not for
being a foreigner we are forgiven, for being a foreigner we must make it known that we respect
their country, we respect their cultures and traditions.
