BUS AGENCY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project entitled here is concerned with computerization of all the transactions
involved in bus agencies. The system ensures that the ticket should be reserved at least ten days
in advance. If a ticket has to be reserved, the user must provide valid details. The ticket
reservation process is made so simple and accurate.

They can provide a complete travel package, including shuttle service to and from the
airport and even the services of a personal tour guide if requested. By doing all your travel and
travel-related shopping with a reputable online bus agency, there is no telling how much you can
get done within a short amount of time.

It used to be that travelling last minute was expensive. Not anymore with online travel
agents. In many cases, unsold seats on flights or unsold rooms in hotels are offered to travel
agents a few weeks before departure date at considerably discounted rates so they can be sold
immediately. If you are travelling last minute, ask your online travel agent for last minute budget
deals. Chances are you might get what you want, provided your bus dates don’t fall within peak
bus times. But you have to ask, not assume that it will be offered automatically.

Booking module:

Booking module performs booking and seating arrangement in a particular day and
particular time. Booking module consist of many provisions to look over the seats which contain
different destination points along with bus fare details helps the passengers to have a complete
glance with a fraction of second.

Master module:

The master module includes customer details, Branch details, Bus details, Route and
destination place information etc. Customer details consist of information regarding online
booking along with telephone booking services.

Bus details module:

Bus detail module maintain the bus details that is bus engine number, seat number, bus
seating position, chase number, service details and driver details.

Enquiry module:

Enquiry forms maintain the enquiry number, name, address, phone number, status and
reference.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The aim of the project is to generate data to carry out the booking details.

 Modification and maintenance can be made very easily since the software is very
much flexible
 The burden of the manual work is reduced because of the computerization of the
system.
 Any form of reports can be produced instantaneously

EXISTING SYSTEM
In this bus agency, the availability of unreserved seats in the particular bus was
calculated manually. During this process the manual errors may occur which consumed more
time due to this problem they cannot gain passenger’s cent percent satisfaction. Existing system
is very primitive in which the bus details, route details and reservation details that are performed
and perform the one that they required then the bill is generated manually and the mode of
payment is also manual.

DRAWBACKS OF EXISTING SYSTEM

 Result can’t be produced in the user friendly.
 Maximum time required for booking.
 Customer record was not maintained properly.
 Requires more manpower.
 High changes for errors in seat allotment.

PROPOSED SYSTEM

In the automation of this project of bus agency, it eliminates all manual error occurred
in booking reservation of seats. By using this system, these processes are done in few seconds.
The bus ticket and booking system does the following activities to overcome the difficulties of
the existing system. The project is designed in visual basic which is user friendly.
