St. Therese College Foundation: Memorandum of Agreement
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
And
The Bureau of Fire Protection, a government office, existing under the laws of the
Republic of the Philippines, with principal office at Lucban St., San Carlos City,
Pangasinan, represented by, SInsp. Michael C. Samera, the City Fire Marshall,
hereinafter referred to as the PARTY OF THE SECOND PART:
WITNESSETH:
Whereas, the St. Therese College Foundation, the Party of the First Part is offering a
degree program for B.S. in Criminology and has instituted an On-The-Job-Training
Program, wherein qualified students (names attached below) will undergo training prior
to graduation in order for them to be adequately familiar with administrative and
operational services of Bureau of Fire Protection, particularly in the manner of
responding fire scene and other fire operations, to augment their formal trainings;
Whereas, the St. Therese College Foundation, Department of Criminology, the Party of
the First Part, proposes that its students be allowed to undergo On-the-Job-Training
Program from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, beginning January 13,
2020 until February 6, 2020 for the first batch; February 10, 2020 to March 5, 2020 for
the second batch; subject to terms and conditions provided for this agreement;
Whereas, the Bureau of Fire Protection, the Party of the Second Part, agrees to accept
the students of St. Therese College Foundation as trainees at its various facilities in
support of the educational institution’s On-The-Job-Training Program and to
complement existing Criminology curricula to match law enforcement demands.
Now, therefore, the parties by these presents, hereby agree as follows:
1. That both parties agree to establish relationship that will foster camaraderie through
the use of both party’s facilities and equipment for instructional and research purposes,
subject to the availability of facilities and equipment and with prior approval of the
concerned party;
2. That both parties agree to explore the potential of co-sponsoring trainings, workshops
and seminars in areas of joint interest;
3. That the Party of the First Part agrees to participate in the exchange of materials,
research publications, instructional information, community relation and other areas of
common interest;
4. That the Party of the Second Part may grant merits or demerits to the OJT’s as they
may deem appropriate;
5. That the Party of the First Part and its students will abide to all pertinent rules and
regulations of the Party of the Second Part;
6. That the Party of the First Part agrees to aid program-activities of the Party of the
Second Part in the furtherance of its mission to maintain a highly professional,
competent, disciplined and credible members of BFP;
8. This Memorandum of Agreement shall become effective upon signing by both parties
and implementation will begin immediately and shall continue to be valid one (1) year
thereafter and can be extended under terms mutually agreed upon by both parties.
In witness whereof, the parties have hereunto set their hands this 13 th day of January
2020 at San Carlos City, Pangasinan.
