What is A Device?

A device is an object invented/created for a particular purpose—E.g. Screwdriver, computer,


mouse pad, mouse, keyboard, microphone, speakers, etc.

Electronic Device

An electronic device is a device that uses an electric current to make work easy.

Electronic ICT Device

An electronic ICT device is a device that is used in the field of ICT to make work easy and faster.
E.g. Flash drive, ear/headphone, mouse, printer, UPS, etc.

Non-Electronic Device

A non-electronic device is a device that makes work easy but does not require an electric
current to function.

Non-Electronic ICT Device

A non-electronic ICT device is a device that is used in an ICT environment that makes work easy
but does not require an electric current to function. E.g. Pliers, pen, paper, mouse pad, tripod
stand, stapler, screwdriver, etc.

Similarities between electronic and non-electronic devices

Both types of devices make our work easy

Difference between electronic and non-electronic devices

1. Electronic devices need the flow of electric current to function while non-electronic
devices can be used with electric current

2. Electronic devices work faster and better than non-electronic devices

3. Non-electronic devices are cheaper than electronic devices

4. Electronic devices require little or no human interaction to function, while non-electronic


devices require human interaction to function.
