ABSTRACT

REVIEW OF NOISE IN THE WAITING ROOM OF


OUTPATIENT UNIT IN HOSPITAL dr. SOEDOMO
TRENGGALEK

Hospital is a health care institution providing inpatient, outpatient, and
emergency care (intensive care). The waiting room is an outpatient care
facility that has a function as recipient of newly coming visitors as well as
visitors who will leave the outpatient unit . One of the convenience
disturbances in the waiting room of the outpatient unit was noise, the
unwanted noise was from any effort or activity at a certain level and time.
Noise occured in the waiting room could cause a source of noise, namely
the source of interior noise caused by humans, conversations, and rumble
in the building. The aim of this research was to find out the noise of the
waiting room of the outpatient unit in RSUD dr. Soedomo Trenggalek
which used descriptive research with crossectional approach. The
population was the waiting room of the outpatient unit and the sample
used was a portion of the population, namely the waiting room of the
outpatient unit in noise measurement from 07.00 to 11.00 AM on Monday
– Thursday, 07.00 to 09.00 AM on Friday, and 07.00 to 10.00 AM on
Saturday. The results showed that the noise level occured in the waiting
room of the outpatient unit was categorized as very hustle because it
exceed or it didn’t meet the standards of noise in the hospital and sources
of noise occured in the waiting room of the outpatient unit was from
conversation or humans in the unit. Conclusion of the noise level that
occured in the waiting room of the outpatient unit in RSUD dr. Soedomo
Trenggalek in the measurement time on average per day got the highest
results on Thursday, it was 84,45 dB and noise measurement in a week got
result 81,7 dB and the highest noise measurement per time at 07.00 –
08.00 AM with a result 87,9dB, the source of noise that occured in the
waiting room of the outpatient unit could be classified as interior noise
sources.
