I found this job on (insert website). The job role I am applying for is (job role). This job fits my

Currently I have no work experience in Media but throughout College and High school I have
worked with the different softwares, camera’s and other equipment so I have a good idea
how to use these. I believe that this will allow me to get a good idea about the tasks that are
given to me and if I am asked to use any of this equipment I will have a good starting point.
In College I first gained experience with A DSLR in my level 2 Media Course where I made a
range of products. The range of products I created were a magazine, a print advert and a
radio show. These all allowed me to get comfortable with the equipment and it allowed me to
get to know the basics of each of them before I started my Level 3 Media course. In my next
course at college we did a lot of production work that allowed me to get even more
experience on these pieces of equipment but I started to learn the different elements of the
equipment and what each setting meant. I also started to use new equipment like a video
camera and this is what I filmed my audio visual advert with. I had to come up with my own
advert promoting this brand of flavoured water and I quickly got comfortable with using a
video camera. All of these different pieces of equipment I’ve used and the products I have
made hopefully would have caught your eye and show that I have had enough experience
for this job.

Skills I possess are my editing skills on Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro since I was in
college. I have progressively gotten better at using these different softwares. For example,
when I was making my adverts I had to create a print, audio and audio visual advert so I
used all of my knowledge and tried to create the best piece of work I could possible. I have
used all of these different softwares for a long time and have learnt many things throughout
college. I also believe that I can plan my work well if I am just starting production and need to
plan out which days are best for me to film. Whilst I have been at college I have had a few
part time jobs that have allowed me to get better with my people skills. I have mostly worked
in retail so i have had to work with the public a lot and when they ask me questions I like to
think that I am very confident in my approach.
I personally believe the skills that I have match really well with this job and I think that I will
have a really good impact on the workplace. I am really excited to hear back from you and I
hope we will speak soon.
