Kinematics Fundamentals
 
1- Calculate the mobility of the linkages assigned from the figure bellow. Then identify
the items in the figure as mechanism, structure, or preloaded structure.

2- Use linkage transformation on the linkage of the figures to make it a 1-DOF


mechanism.
3- Use number synthesis to find all possible link combinations for 2-DOF, up to 9 links,
to hexagonal order, using only revolute joints.
4- Calculate Grashof condition of the fourbar mechanisms defined below. Build
cardboard models of the linkages and describe the motions of each inversion. Link
lengths are in inches (or double given numbers in centimeters).
5- Find the mobility of the automotive throttle mechanism in the following figure

6- Find the mobility, the Grashof condition of the oil field pump shown in the figure.
