Sporadic “Error System Failure” after Switch-off: Install SW Patch 2.1.1_C1

PREREQUISITE:
• Software 2.1.0_C1 has to be installed on the printer.

REQUIRED TIME:
• 30 min. for SW update 2.1.1_C1

TOOLS:
• Service PC to copy software patch to CF card

IMPORTANT:
Before starting any repair or software installation activities ……
(1) Confirm that the printer queue is empty
(2) Remove the network cable, to ensure, that nobody sends print-jobs to the printer
during your work.

1 Software Update via CF Card

NOTE:
Preferably use the CF card which came with the printer or a CF card from Agfa stock.
For other CF cards it cannot be guaranteed that they can be read by the printer.

(1) Delete all files on the CF card except previous backup files if available
(2) Copy file SWR_DRYSTAR5300_R2.1.1_C01.zip to the root of the CF card (this means,
not in any sub-directory)
(3) In the key-operator menu select '9 Installation – 1 Installation from CF card'
(4) Follow the further instructions on the local display.
(5) When finished, re-connect the network cable
(6) Print an internal test image and a test image from the modality
(7) Check image quality at the lightbox

Result: The printer is successfully updated with software 2.1.1_C1.

2 Software Update via Browser

(1) Connect the service PC to the printer via network cable
(2) Start up the browser
(3) Enter IP address of the printer in the browser address window
(4) Select 'Service Engineer Tools'
(5) Select 'Enter Service Command Session'
(6) Select '9 Installation'
(7) Select '1 New software installation'
(8) Select '2 Skip backup'
(9) Select '2 From this computer'
(10) Browse for file SWR_DRYSTAR5300_R2.1.1_C01.zip
(11) When finished, re-connect the network cable
(12) Print an internal test image and a test image from the modality
(13) Check image quality at the lightbox

Result: The printer is successfully updated with software 2.1.1_C1

Symptom Sporadically, after switch-off the printer hangs with message “Error system failure”.
Unplugging and reconnecting the power cord solves the problem. The printer boots up normally
afterwards.
This problem may appear at all printers with SW version < 2.1.1_C1
(SN ≤ 5864 without 5831 and 5832)

Defect Software problem.

Solution Install software patch 2.1.1_C1 on top of software 2.1.0_C1 at the next service intervention.
If software 2.1.0_C1 is not installed yet, first perform a software upgrade to 2.1.0_C1.
