1. OBJECT AND FIELD OF APPLICATION

The object of this norme is to define the contents and presentation of the "Specifications techniques
Sécurité-Réglementation" (SSR), contained in category R of this collection according to norme A10 0010
(Identification of standard documents).

Norme A10 0255 "Technical specifications - Safety-Regulation - Creation or modification of R normes"

specifies the terms and conditions of normes R.. ..., for which the characteristics concerning the
products subject to regulations are identified in the norme A13 5510.
Norme A10 0252 " Technical specifications - Safety-Regulation (SSR) - Classification index numbers "
Norme A13 3310 "Safety products and products subject to Regulation – General use" describes
the process for safety products and/or products subject to regulation.

2. DEFINITION
The R norme is compiled by the hard core of the Direction des Métiers Organiques des Véhicules (DMOV)
and of the Direction des Organes (DOGN) according to norme A13 5510 for the characteristics subject to
regulation and norme A10 0255 for the contents.

The R norme is a defining element for safety products and products subject to regulation. It is applied to
the specifications that are distributed by the Direction des Plates-formes, des Techniques et des Achats
(DPTA) (drawings, parts lists, process sheets, ...) and for which the homologation is the responsibility of
the manufacturer.

PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN
SSR – DEFINITION - PRESENTATION A10 0250 2/9

In the case where the supplier approves his own product, the control of the definition is his responsibility.
The supplier is entirely responsible for the conformity of product manufacture with regard to regulations
through his homologation marking.

The object of a norme R.. .... is to specify, for a product or family of products, the characteristics of the
product to ensure its correct functions regarding user safety or vehicle regulations, that are specified on
the part drawings.

R normes can be consulted in the NORME section of the GEODE system (Gestion Electronique et
Organisation de la documentation Etudes).
The affected regulatory text can be consulted in the REGLEM section of the GEODE system.

3. TERMINOLOGY

The following terms, used in this norme, are described in norme de gestion A10 1100 :

• CAHIER DES CHARGES (CDC) (Specifications)

• HOMOLOGATION (Homologation)
• INDICE D'EVOLUTION DOCUMENT (ID) (Document suffix change)
• NOMENCLATURE ELEMENTAIRE (NEN) (Basic parts list)
• NORME (Standard)
• PLAN (Drawing)
• PRODUIT (Product)
• PRODUIT DE SECURITE (Safety product)
• PRODUIT SOUMIS A REGLEMENTATION (Product subject to regulations)
• SPECIFICATION TECHNIQUE ETUDES (STE) (Engineering technical specification)
• SPECIFICATION TECHNIQUE LABORATOIRE (STL) (Laboratory technical specification)
• SPECIFICATION TECHNIQUE SECURITE-REGLEMENTATION (SSR) (Technical specifications
Safety – Regulations)

4. PRESENTATION
The description of the common part of the normes, administered under GEODE, is described in norme
A10 0020.

The specific details of the R normes (see appendix 1 and 2) are :

• On the face sheet the type of norme; Spécification technique sécurité – réglementation, with the
addition of the STOP sign in place of the contents.
• On the pages following the face sheet the addition of the STOP sign in the header.
• In the "Records and reference documents" addition of the headings :
• PSA DECOUPAGE which comprises the PSA découpage and the design code according to
norme A10 2422.
• REGULATION that lists the key words which allows the retrieval of the regulatory text in the
REGLEM section of GEODE (if the R norme is only valid for S, specified "safety").
• The contents that is described in the paragraph below.

4.1. CHARACTERISTICS/CRITERIA COLUMN :

The body of the document identifies in the following order :

• The Characteristics/criteria of the Safety and/or Regulation section split into :
• mandatory requirements,
• technical solutions to meet mandatory requirements,
R or SR with regard to each characteristic according to its effect on the regulation or both.
In the observations area it is necessary to indicate the regulatory requirement with regard to the technical
solution characteristic.

• The Characteristics/criteria of the Safety only section.

S with regard to each criterion.
Indicate, if required, the reference number of the document on which the characteristic is quoted, if
this is not shown on the drawing (e.g. normes, cahier des charges).

Note : When there is no requirement in any part specify "no criteria".

4.2. (*) COLUMN :

The indication of the values S or R or SR with regard to each characteristic.
Exceptionally the value # is used to signify that the validity of the characteristic (S, R, or SR) is specified
on the drawing where the characteristic is identified.

Special case " tightening torque and spot welds" :

These characteristics are expressed in the engineering documentation, indicated by the character S and
in the spot welding file (PSE) by the character A (attribute A).
In this area the expression must be S (safety only) or SR (if a regulation exists applicable to this
characteristic). The expression R (only) is prohibited.

4.3. OBSERVATIONS COLUMN :

The vehicle or unit engineering technical disciplines can record in this area, with regard to each
characteristic, explicit supplementary information in the title of the § below.
4.3.1. ABSENCE OF INFORMATION
Designated characteristics to be taken into account.
Note : No identification symbol on the DPTA definition documents.

4.3.2. ON DRAWING :
It is imperative that this symbol appears on the drawing in the proximity of the characteristic concerned. Its
position must be such that it is not possible for the reader of the drawing to confuse it with another
characteristic.
Note : e.g. a product comprising several similar characteristics in its definition may be identified with one
symbol.

4.3.3. IF ON DRAWING :
This symbol must appear on the drawing in the case where the characteristic is taken into account. It must
be positioned in the proximity of this characteristic. Its position must be such that it is not possible for the
reader of the drawing to confuse it with another characteristic.
A "R" norme refers to a product or a family of similar products. It can then include characteristics not
shown on all the drawings. In this case, only those shown on the corresponding drawing are taken into
account.
Note : This specific case is justified because the R normes are generic, and are valid for a family of
products having the same function, but originating from a different technology for example. Consequently,
a characteristic may be classed S, R or S/R for one product and not for another, all being part of the same
family covered by the R norme. The identification on the DPTA drawings of these peculiarities is therefore
justified.
4.3.4. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION :
All explanations justifying the characteristics/criteria.
In particular the mandatory requirement with regard to technical solutions, documents or PSA reference
system on which the characteristic is quoted (e.g. According to CDC, STE, STL quoted on the drawing,
according to NEN, according to B norme).
Note : No identification symbol on the DPTA drawing or on documents or reference system.
