The object of this norme is to define the contents and presentation of the "Specifications techniques
Sécurité-Réglementation" (SSR), contained in category R of this collection according to norme A10 0010
(Identification of standard documents).
2. DEFINITION
The R norme is compiled by the hard core of the Direction des Métiers Organiques des Véhicules (DMOV)
and of the Direction des Organes (DOGN) according to norme A13 5510 for the characteristics subject to
regulation and norme A10 0255 for the contents.
The R norme is a defining element for safety products and products subject to regulation. It is applied to
the specifications that are distributed by the Direction des Plates-formes, des Techniques et des Achats
(DPTA) (drawings, parts lists, process sheets, ...) and for which the homologation is the responsibility of
the manufacturer.
In the case where the supplier approves his own product, the control of the definition is his responsibility.
The supplier is entirely responsible for the conformity of product manufacture with regard to regulations
through his homologation marking.
The object of a norme R.. .... is to specify, for a product or family of products, the characteristics of the
product to ensure its correct functions regarding user safety or vehicle regulations, that are specified on
the part drawings.
R normes can be consulted in the NORME section of the GEODE system (Gestion Electronique et
Organisation de la documentation Etudes).
The affected regulatory text can be consulted in the REGLEM section of the GEODE system.
3. TERMINOLOGY
The following terms, used in this norme, are described in norme de gestion A10 1100 :
4. PRESENTATION
The description of the common part of the normes, administered under GEODE, is described in norme
A10 0020.
4.3.2. ON DRAWING :
It is imperative that this symbol appears on the drawing in the proximity of the characteristic concerned. Its
position must be such that it is not possible for the reader of the drawing to confuse it with another
characteristic.
Note : e.g. a product comprising several similar characteristics in its definition may be identified with one
symbol.
4.3.3. IF ON DRAWING :
This symbol must appear on the drawing in the case where the characteristic is taken into account. It must
be positioned in the proximity of this characteristic. Its position must be such that it is not possible for the
reader of the drawing to confuse it with another characteristic.
A "R" norme refers to a product or a family of similar products. It can then include characteristics not
shown on all the drawings. In this case, only those shown on the corresponding drawing are taken into
account.
Note : This specific case is justified because the R normes are generic, and are valid for a family of
products having the same function, but originating from a different technology for example. Consequently,
a characteristic may be classed S, R or S/R for one product and not for another, all being part of the same
family covered by the R norme. The identification on the DPTA drawings of these peculiarities is therefore
justified.
4.3.4. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION :
All explanations justifying the characteristics/criteria.
In particular the mandatory requirement with regard to technical solutions, documents or PSA reference
system on which the characteristic is quoted (e.g. According to CDC, STE, STL quoted on the drawing,
according to NEN, according to B norme).
Note : No identification symbol on the DPTA drawing or on documents or reference system.
