FOREWORD
Within the framework of an overall step aiming at being the “leader of the ecological vehicle”, group PSA Peugeot
Citroën launched green a materials plan. The objective of this plan is to integrate on the perimeter of the organic
materials (plastic, amended foams and natural organic materials) 20% in green material mass in 2011, then 30% in
2015.
The operational deployment of green materials on the projects is based on the following shares:
• An objective in green material mass is solved by a contract with the Stake Commitment Project for each
project. This objective is declined on each subsystem.
• The tender documents impose an answer integral supplier of the green materials since April 2008.
• For each project, an indicator on the mass of green materials, is followed.
It is thus advisable to precisely define the criteria of eligibility under green material and the ways of calculating of
the green material mass.

2.4.EXPRESSION ON DOCUMENTS
Simultaneously with the garnishment of information in implementation MACSI concerning green materials, the
implementation of the requirements of this standard requires to indicate on the plane supplier:
• the reference of this document,
• detailed bill of material containing following information at least:
• chemical nature of materials
• Commercial reference of materials for all the rubber and plastic parts.
• rate (mass TREB percentage) maximum and the origin of the regrind matter, if the part contains some
• rate (TMV mass percentage) of green materials and mass of the part, if the part contains some
3.TERMINOLOGY
A dictionary (glossary) of the principal terms and their definitions used in the activities of the Technical and
industrial Upstream is consultable in-house via the glossary Nectar (http://nectar.inetpsa.com). This glossary is
gradually enriched.
3.1.DEFINITIONS
One distinguishes in the definitions:
For the requirements of this norm, the following terms are defined:
Recirculated Material diverted of the flow of waste during the production cycle.
material pre
consumption (= Examples:
post industrial) • Fall of packing and bottle manufacture (Stoppers, films…)
• Fall of production (textiles, flat products, fitteds carpet…)
• Incomplete parts, semi-finished products
• Parts nonin conformity
• Ranks matter out-specification (if they are recompoundés)
Are excluded the materials, such as those resulting from the adjustment, re-grinding or the
residues generated during a process and being able to be recovered in the same process
as that which generated them.
Material generated by the parts at the end of the lifetime which cannot be used any more
for the use for which they were designed.
Examples:
• Waste of packing and bottle manufacture (stoppers, bottles, pots…)
• VHU (Parts at the end of the lifetime)
• Textile fibers
Natural fibers of the textiles or fibrous materials
Examples: Fibers of cotton for sound-deadening material, coconut Fibers for head office,…
• Natural materials
Natural materials used after an operation of processing
Examples: Leather, Natural rubber, Wood,…
The final objective of a favorable environmental impact could be taken into account in the
selection of materials: Analyze of Life cycle, nature of the resources (the priority will be
given to the nonconcurrent resources of the food wire drawing die)
Examples:
• Polyamide 11 (castor oil)
• Biopolyols (vegetable oils: soya, castor bean, colza…)
• PLA: acid PolyLactique (corn starch)
Regrind contents Proportion out of earth of regrind material in a product.
Only the materials of the elements of the bunch of moulding outsides to the recess of the
part (earth clamp, canals feeder, parison) during the moulding are regarded as regrind
contents.
The die-castings off specifications during the phases of tuning and output must be
excluded from the range of re-grinding.
The regrind material is regarded neither as a recycled material, nor like a green
material.
(1) In accordance with the norm NF EN ISO 14021
3.2.ACRONYMS
For the needs for this standard, the following symbols are defined:
RMA Assembly reference parts Approved Material
SPA Technical Produces Approved
STL Technical specification Laboratory
TD Heat-hardenable
TP Thermoplastic materials
TPE Thermoplastic elastomer
TMV Contents of green material expressed as a percentage
TREB Regrind contents expressed as a percentage
VHU Unusable vehicles
4.GENERALS PRESCRIPTIONS
These requirements are those of the standards B20 0110, B20 0250, B20 1310 and B20 1315 whose paragraph B
is supplemented as follows:
4.1.SUPPLIER'S RESPONSABILITY
The delivered parts containing of green materials and/or regrind materials owe as well as the parts made out of
virgin materials being free from apparent permanently eliminate a defects such as:
• Missing material, shrink hole
• Marbling, fuel line freeze, flash, burning, bubble…
The proceeded parameters and their controls must be integrated in the monitoring plan. These data remain
constantly accessible to PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN. Any engineering change of the proceeded parameters must
make to the object of a notification to the service materials and parts of process concerned as well as new
presentation of initial samples.
In the presence of contents out of recirculated material defined in the § 3.1, it is possible to make be reproduced on
the product the volumic percentage of recirculated material.
In accordance with standard NF IN ISO 14021, symbolization “material recirculated” is done using a loop pile of
Möbius and of a figure indicating the rate of recirculated contents defines by straight edges of calculation of the §
5.1
Example: Marking produced with material partially recirculated containing 65% of recirculated material
5.CALCUL PROCESSUS
The tolerances on the values of earths that it is the total earth of the part or the earth of each material, are:
Mass m Tolerance in %
m ≥ 10 kg +/- 1%
1 kg ≤ m < 10 kg +/- 2 %
100 g ≤ m < 1 kg +/- 5 %
m < 100 g +/- 10 %
Examples :
Example :
Part of polyamide 66 100g beefed up by 30% glass fibers into which is introduced during the injection the regrind
contents of the earth clamp of injection
