CONTENTS
This standard applies to planar or moulded acoustic absorbents, made up by single materials or complexes.
The materials being the subject of a procedure of setting in Material data sheet (FTM) must answer to this present
standard.
This standard does not apply to the absorbents employed in engine compartment as soundproofing under bonnet,
sound-deadening material of apron, sound-deadening material isovac,… which make part of a specific standard
“standard Complex Material for engine soundproofing” and associated with the FTM Complexe Engine
Soudproofing.

3.TERMINOLOGY
A dictionary (glossary) of the main terms and their definitions used within the activities of the Department "Amont
Technico-Industriel" can be consulted in-house via the glossary Nectar (http://nectar.inetpsa.com). This glossary is
constantly up-dated.
3.1.DEFINITIONS

3.2.ACRONYMS
For the requirements of this norm, the following acronyms are defined:
ST: Technical Specification
FTM: Material data sheet
TBBA: Tertiobutylbenzoic Acid
COV: Volatil Organic Compounds
TEDA: Triethylenediamine
4.PRINCIPLE
The requirements are declined depending on the performances ensured by the material in terms of:
• Regulation and consumer protection,
• Appearance when new,
• Appearance and ageing without use,
• Appearance and ageing after use,
• Conformity with the PSA technical specialty rules,
• Technical (mechanical, thermal, etc.) characteristics.
On the other hand, the main requirements are the subject of a numbering that allows tracing them in accordance
with the Automotive Systems Engineering system. Example: MAT_VEH_TMA_301 for the resistance to
microorganisms (mildew).
They are identified by a code of MAT_XXX_YYY_ZZZ type, with:
• MAT for material
• XXX that allows locating the application (perimeter)
VEH for the whole vehicle
INT for the interior applications
EXT for the exterior applications
SCM for the application under the engine hood
• YYY that specifies the location
TMA for all the applications within the perimeter
VIS for the visible applications within the perimeter
NVI for the hidden applications within the perimeter
• ZZZ that indicates a serial number
