EDUCATIONAL SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Annual Report 2020

As the year started, Educational Sponsorship program provides


opportunities and able to transformed the lives of hundreds of scholars.

In today’s economic situation, many families question the value of


education due to different crisis explosion .But yet, Educational Sponsorship
Program gives them enligthenment about the importance of having a good
education.It was a good start that each families developed the value of
education.

This month of January, Educational Sponsorship Program objective reach


out to parents and scholars to be active in the program activities, leading
them to develop a sense of responsibility and being able to function as an
individual thru various activities that could help them to explore their
skills and capabilities. Three (3) Core group started to facilitates
activities that could help scholars to develop their facilitating skills and
helping them to realize and tutors the elementary scholars. They had
developed and unsderstand the importance and difference of Responsibility and
Obligation and it also helps them to harness their leadership skills and
develop good traits.
Parents Education helps to enhance the parenting skills. Through this
session parents developed positive discipline for their children.70-80% of
parents in each are are actively participates in the session.
College Scholars reactivated the passion for volunterism.Aside from
facilitating activities, they are also interested in doing clerical work in
office such as filing and encoding. It was a good start last month of
February but unfortunately it does not continued dur to pandemic alert.

Educational Sponsorship Program Activities started month of April was not


implemented according to the plan due to pandemic crisis. All program
activities was canceled for safety and protection among the scholars and
their family.

Before the the lockdown ESP disbursed allowances and graduation assistance
to scholars . Since the community lockdown started, SPECS foundation is ready
and prepared for this kind of situation, through its Beyond Covid Response,
scholars and their families was able to received food packs and relief goods
which timely very helpful because almost of the family are forced to stop
from work and they are just depending on the government assistance.

During this pandemic crisis, closely monitoring is applied through online


communication. With the help and assistance of area coordinator.Through area
coordinator,we have received reports that related to scholars family
situation especially those meber of the family who are sick.Immediate
response was in action. SPECS extend support by means of financial assistance
and food packs Medical Assistance was also extend to the family. It was
identified families who are top priority to be given and immediate
assistance.

Success in the midst of pandemic for the year 2020

Despite of pandemic 15 of ESP scholars finished the course and are now
professionals. 78 of scholars in different areas received academic awards
through virtual ceremony. We also have 12 new scholars. 58 of college
scholars participates youth congress virtual session. It was a success for
the ESP because college scholars was able to updates knowledge plus
additional learnings that could apply during pandemic crisis. 5 of the
attendees able to share learnings to other scholars.

ESP Program is able to extend help to 339 of scholars and their


families by means of financial support and food packs plus other assistance
to each families.

It was a success for the program because in the midst of pandemic


still the connection to each scholars and family is visible. No one is left
behind. Everyone express gratitude and admiration to SPECS ESP for the
continues support they received. Seeing every scholar and their families,
having a determination to overcome difficulties in times of pandemic is
giving us the motivation and encouragement to inspire and continue to work
hard for them.
