Angels to the Rescue

Are there really angels among us or are they all up in heaven? Have you ever seen or experienced
an angel? What’s the true purpose for angels? Today we’re going to look at angels throughout the
Scriptures so that we can fully understand what their real purpose is in God’s divine plan.

The first thing we see in the Scriptures is there are more than enough angels to go around. There is
no clear indication of how many angels there really are, but Daniel gives us a glimpse when he
recounts the vision he had of the throne of God. As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of
days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne
was fiery flames; its wheels were burning fire. A stream of fire issued and came out from before him;
a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him…
(Daniel 7:9, 10) That’s a lot of angels and we can see that John confirms this with his vision of God’s
throne where he sees the exact same thing as Daniel. Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many
angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten
thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands… (Rev 5:11) That makes a minimum
of 100 million angels standing before God. Yet, what are all these angels for?

Purpose of Angels

We know what angels are, but what is their purpose in our everyday lives? Bless the LORD, O you
his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word! Bless the LORD,
all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will! (Psalm 103:20, 21) Angels are the mighty ones who
fulfill the word of God. They obey His voice according to His word and they are servants that were
created only to do God’s Will. Then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For
he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways they will lift you up in
their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. (Psalm 91:10-12) Oh, what wonderful
promises we have for protection from God’s angels. God commands them and they obey on our
behalf.

In Hebrews when speaking about the angels, Scripture says: Are they not all ministering spirits sent
forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14) When we look closer as to what
these angels do, we see that they minister or serve those who are God’s chosen people. The Greek
word for minister in this passage is “diakonia” which means to attend, as a servant, aid. Looking at
this passage a little closer, we see that angels are sent forth from God’s throne to be servants for all
those who will inherit salvation. These angels are not for those who are lost, but are sent only for
those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Psalm 34:7 confirms this when it says,
“The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” If the Lord
makes special mention that His angels encamp around those who fear Him, then this must also mean
that the angels are not encamped or serving those who are lost and do not fear the Lord. Yes, God
gives angels to serve His true children whom He loves. “Take heed that you do not despise one of
these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is
in heaven. (Matthew 18:10) Did you realize that each of us have our own angels who are standing
before our Father in heaven? Could this be the millions of angels we read about earlier that were
standing before the throne of God? What’s amazing to realize is that it seems each of us have our

own personal angels who serve us on behalf of the Father. These angels do not seem to be with us
all the time but are before the face of God waiting for His orders to serve us. Let’s look at some
angels in action to see how they work.

Angels in Action

Do you remember when Jesus was tempted by Satan? Notice how the angels were not with Jesus
but came to minister or aid Him after He was tempted. Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you,
Satan! For it is written, „You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.‟” Then
the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him. (Matthew 4:10, 11) Yes,
the Father even sent Jesus angels when He most needed strength. Jesus needed help from His
Father’s angels from the beginning of His ministry when He was tempted in the wilderness to the
Garden of Gethsemane where he was betrayed. Jesus prayed, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup
away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from
heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat
became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (Luke 22:42-44) Again, we see an angel
coming from Heaven in order to minister to Jesus on earth. Angels coming from Heaven seem to be
the common denominator. These angels do not seem to be with us all the time but are sent from the
throne of God to serve us as God’s messengers.

When the apostles were thrown into prison for preaching Jesus, we see God sending an angel to
rescue them. But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out,
and said, “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.” (Acts 5:19, 20)
Later we see an angel sent to Peter to rescue him from prison. Peter was sleeping between two
soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries before the door were guarding the prison. And behold,
an angel of the Lord stood next to him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side
and woke him, saying, "Get up quickly." And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him,
"Dress yourself and put on your sandals." And he did so. And he said to him, "Wrap your cloak
around you and follow me." And he went out and followed him. He did not know that what was
being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they had passed the
first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its
own accord, and they went out and went along one street, and immediately the angel left him. When
Peter came to himself, he said, "Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me
from the hand of Herod…” (Acts 12:6-11)

Believers Hold the Keys to Releasing Their Angels

What we will look at next is how believers hold the keys to releasing their angels. Yes, God is the one
who sends our angels but it’s us who hold the keys to letting them loose from the throne room of
heaven. Listen to what Jesus says, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever
you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in
heaven.” (Matthew 16:19) To help us understand this Scripture better, let’s paraphrase this verse to
see what this means. Jesus says that we hold the keys to the kingdom of heaven and whatever we
do not allow (bind) on earth, it will not be allowed from heaven, and whatever we allow (loose) on
earth will be allowed (loosed) in heaven. How are things bound (not allowed) in heaven and how are
things loosed (allowed) in heaven? Here is how. “Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before
men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before
men will be denied before the angels of God. (Luke 12:8, 9) Please understand, this Scripture does
not mean that we need to confess before men that Jesus is the Son of God. It’s not saying this at all.
You see, the Greek word for confess (as in “confess Me before men”) the Greek word for confess is

 homologe which is from the words hom-oo and Log’-os meaning SAME WORD or to speak the
same Word (Jesus). In the beginning was the Word (logos), and the Word (logos) was with God, and
the Word (logos) was God. (John 1:1) Yes, Jesus is the Word and we must speak/confess Jesus, we
must speak the Word of God before men. When this happens, Jesus will speak this same word to the
angels.

Our example is Jesus. When He came and walked the earth, He was not speaking of His own
authority or what He wanted to speak. Jesus was confessing the Father, speaking the same as the
Father. For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself
given me a commandment--what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is
eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me." (John 12:49, 50) Whatever
Jesus heard the Father speak, He spoke to men and that is why there was power behind His words.
Jesus was confessing God before men and God was sending forth His angels to minister on His
behalf. We should be confessing Jesus before men. We should be speaking the same word as we
see and hear in the Bible. Not speaking our own thoughts but only words that agree with Scripture.

Let me give you an example of this. Let’s say that I start to feel a cold coming on. As soon as I
recognize the symptoms I have two choices, either to accept this cold or reject it. One choice is for
me to say that I accept it and confess in my heart I now have come down with a cold. Then someone
asks, Are you getting a cold? and I simply reply, Yes my cold is just starting. By confessing or
accepting this cold I have done two things. The first is that I have loosed (allowed) sickness on earth
so that sickness is allowed (loosed) from heaven, “whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in
heaven.” Because of this denial of God’s word which says I’m healed by the blood of Jesus, there
were no healing angels loosed from heaven to minister to me and take this cold away. Why? Because
I have denied Jesus (the Word) and because I did not speak faith in what Jesus promised in the
Scriptures. Because of this denial of the Word, because I have not spoke the same word as Jesus, I
have been denied before the angels of God. “He who denies Me before men will be denied before
the angels of God.” Where I went wrong is that I did not speak and confess the Word of God which
says that I have already been healed by the sacrifice of Jesus, “by whose stripes you were healed” (1
Peter 2:24). Because I did not confess what the Word says, “All things whatsoever ye pray and ask
for, believe that ye received them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24) I am denied before the
angels of God. Jesus has denied me before the angels. My lack of faith and lack of boldly speaking
the promises of God has restricted or bound my angels from leaving the throne room of God to save
me. These angels were ready to serve me and minister to my healing needs but they were bound by
my lack of faith. They were further bound by what was spoken out of my mouth (confessing the cold),
and, by what was not spoken out of my mouth (God’s promises).

Now let’s say that I feel the same cold symptoms coming on but I respond differently. This time
instead of accepting it, I bind that sickness. As soon as I feel that cold coming on, I rebuke the devil
and resist him. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). I then confess that Jesus paid
the penalty for sin so I don’t have to pay. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having
become a curse for us” (Gal 3:13). Then I boldly confess that “I have been crucified with Christ; it is
no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). I then boldly confess in my heart and
from my mouth to others that it’s Jesus Christ who lives in me and that Jesus does not get a cold and
Jesus is never sick. So then if it’s Christ who lives in me, then it is impossible for me to be sick. I don’t
receive that sickness because the blood of Jesus has already saved me from this cold!

What I have now done is confessed the same word as Jesus and He will now confess me (and His
Word) before the angels of God. I have bound (not allowed) sickness here on earth and have now
loosed (released) the promises of God. That bold confession now looses (releases) the healing
angels that are in the throne room of God. He can now send forth my angels to take away the
symptoms of my cold. They are the God’s ministering angels sent forth to heal me. Are they not all
ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14) Can you
see with your spiritual eyes how those healing angels would be released according to my faith?
"According to your faith be it done to you." (Matthew 9:29) According to my faith and my confession
those angels were sent to strengthen me and cleanse any virus. I spoke out loud before men what
the Word of God says about my healing and it manifested in the physical. Because I believed,
therefore I spoke out loud to others. Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has
been written, "I believed, and so I spoke," we also believe, and so we also speak (1 Corinthians
4:13) It was me who held the keys to the kingdom with my faith in God’s Word. I had a choice, believe
what I saw in the physical and accept it or not accept it and believe what God’s Word says about me.
Only by believing God’s Word and confessing in my heart and to others gave God the ability to
release those ministering angels on my behalf. Only then could Jesus be my Savior from my cold,
because I agreed with His Word and spoke it. Jesus is our Savior in all things but it’s only when we
confess Him before others that it really starts to manifest in the physical.

Confess Jesus - Speaking the Things that are not as Though They Were

One of the biggest challenges all of us as Believers face in releasing our angels is by what we see,
what we hear and what we feel. Things we experience in the physical often times conflicts with what
the Word of God says. The Word of God says that by what Jesus did on the cross, we are already
healed; “by whose stripes you were healed.” Yet many of us still get sick because we accept that
sickness and do not stand on the Word of God.

Many of us are faced with different challenges in life where we feel Satan making us miserable,
where darkness and worry starts to set in because of our circumstances. This directly conflicts with
what Jesus has done for us. Jesus “delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into
the kingdom of the Son… (Colossians 1:13) Darkness and the power of Satan should have no power
over us. Because Christ lives in us we are now spiritually seated with Christ in the kingdom of God.
[Jesus] raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
(Ephesians 2:6) Yet, many of us don’t believe this and are tossed to and fro by worry and despair
because we believe what we see instead of accepting the truth in the Word of God.

It’s a constant battle between your flesh and your spirit, your natural man and your spiritual man.
(1Corinthians 2:14) Now the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. Our natural man
wants to believe what we see and feel while our spiritual man wants to believe what the promises are
in the Word of God.

We must learn from our Father in Heaven who “calls those things which do not exist as though they
did” (Romans 4:17). We must learn to speak into existence what we have faith for and what God
promised us through Scripture while at the same time casting down the things we see and feel in the
natural that are contrary to God’s promises. “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that
is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the
obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5) As you start to practice in your mind the casting down of
your natural thoughts and imaginations, as you start to bring every thought into captivity and filter it
through the Word of God, you will start the process of renewing your mind. Do not be conformed to

this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what
is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2) By transforming your mind
from the natural things you see and feel, to the mind of Christ and how He sees it, you will start to
boldly speak faith in what the Bible promises you. You will confess Jesus and loose your angels “I say
to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the
angels of God.” (Luke 12:8) These angels will now come from Heaven to minister to your needs. If
you continue speaking the truth according to what you see and feel in the natural you will continue to
have your angels sitting on the bench waiting for you to speak your faith. “But he who denies Me
before men will be denied before the angels of God.” (Luke 12:9)

By casting down natural thoughts of what you see and feel, you are less and less conformed to this
world and only then can you discern what God’s perfect will is for you. God’s will is to believe His
Word and speak your promises boldly so that your angels can minister to your need whatever it is.
That is salvation! The problem is that most Christians think that salvation only comes when they die
and they go to Heaven. God is teaching us that salvation starts now, today, because we have the
keys to the kingdom of Heaven and are invited into this supernatural kingdom right now. "The
kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!'
for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you." (Luke 17:20, 21) When these tests come and
you do not accept the natural outcome of what you see but instead cast them down and speak faith
according to the Word of God, you are walking more and more in the kingdom of God and more and
more like Jesus. This will release your angels to answer your prayers.

In our example of a cold or other sickness beginning to manifest itself, if I do not receive the
symptoms and instead speak faith in what I believe God has already done, that is a perfect example
of faith. (Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen. Faith is not just a matter of believing in my heart, but is of action because faith is
manifested by what I say and by what I do. So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
(James 2:17) After all isn’t that what faith is all about?

As we speak or confess these promises of how Jesus has already healed you, saved you, delivered
you… power and life is given to your words. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. (Proverbs
18:21) These words of faith create more faith and create life in whatever situation we need saving.
Speaking the Word has power and has life. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
(John 6:63) Why? Because the words Jesus was speaking was directly from His Father in Heaven.

We also speak words that cause our faith and prayers to die and never reach heaven. If you are not
agreeing with the Word, how can you walk with Jesus in your prayers? Shall two walk together,
except they have agreed? (Amos 3:3) The choice is ours and when we speak life or confess the
Word, we release our angels who stand before the Father, just waiting for you to believe God’s Word
confessing it to others. So get used to it, battles will always take place in this lifetime. What you are
speaking with your mouth in faith is always going to be contrary to what you see and feel. Sometimes
you may even ask yourself, How can these words of faith be true? But this is faith even though the
world might scoff and say we are speaking foolishness. We as believers are to walk by faith and not
by what we see; for we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). We bind the adverse things
that come into our lives, and we speak or loose (release) the blessings we see in Scripture. That’s
how we should call on Jesus as our Savior every day and that is how we employ our angels into
action and get our prayers answered. Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do
his word, obeying the voice of his word! Bless the LORD, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his
will! (Psalm 103:20, 21)

Speaking God’s Word Looses the Angels!

Here is an Old Testament example of God fighting for His people as long as they spoke praises and
faith before the enemy. (2 Chronicles 20:1, 2, 15-24) Now all Judah, with their little ones, their wives,
and their children, stood before the LORD (2) Then some came and told Jehoshaphat, saying, “A
great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea… (15) And he said, “Listen, all you of
Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you:
„Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but
God‟s. (16) Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you
will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. (17) You will not need to fight
in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you,
O Judah and Jerusalem!‟ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is
with you.” (18) And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the
inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the LORD, worshiping the LORD. (19) Then the Levites of the
children of the Kohathites and of the children of the Korahites stood up to praise the LORD God of
Israel with voices loud and high. (20) So they rose early in the morning and went out into the
Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you
inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe
His prophets, and you shall prosper.” (21) And when he had consulted with the people, he
appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as
they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures
forever.” (22) Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the
people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were
defeated… (24) So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the
multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. Instead of
believing what they saw and felt, instead of fighting in their own strength, God and His angels did the
fighting for them. They were told to “Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established;
believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” How did they show their belief in the Lord? They did
not approach the enemy with swords; they came up with praise and thanksgiving to the Lord. God
used their faith and their mouths to release the angels from His throne.

Can you see how we can learn from this Old Testament example? God told them, “Do not be afraid
nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God‟s.” Today
Jesus tells us not to be dismayed over the enemy you’re facing because “I tell you, whatever you ask
in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). Yet, how many of us
are really sending our praises out before our enemies? Usually it’s the opposite, we fix our eyes on
the problem and we complain to the Lord, The 'enemy is still there! , when in reality we just haven’t
believed God. We speak what we see and feel instead of what the word of God says and promises.

What should be our response? We should repent and start changing the way we speak because
salvation only comes out of our mouths. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and
with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:10) By sending our praises out
before our battle, we are confessing Jesus before men and we are promised, “…him the Son of Man
also will confess before the angels of God.”

Unemployed Angels

I think that we have established a good foundation as to how believers can use their faith and their
words to send forth their angels when they need them. Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to
minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14) These angels are for us and our service
but now we will look at the reasons why there are so many people who have unemployed angels or
at least we could call them underemployed angels.

Why Unemployed Angels? We do not have the assistance of angels because we do not ask.
(James 4:2) “You do not have because you do not ask.” How many times do we as believers struggle
through problems only to realize that we have not even asked for God’s help and salvation for this
problem? “You do not have because you do not ask.” We get so caught up in our works and our
efforts that we squeeze God out or think of Him at the end instead of the beginning. What if we
prayed for the seemingly little things in life? Things like understanding, joy, peace, love, direction,
energy, patience, kindness, wisdom, help to fix something… Whatever it is, Jesus is not only our
Savior when we die, but He is our Savior in everything right now. He has at your disposal as many
angels as you will ever need. Those angels sitting on the bench are just as anxious to help you out
as you are for their help. God is just waiting for you to say the word. “You do not have because you
do not ask.”

Why Unemployed Angels? Another reason for unemployed angels is doubt and unbelief… (James
1:6-8) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he
is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. This is one of the biggest reasons our angels are
underemployed. Do you doubt the Word of God? Do you doubt whether God has really heard you
and if He will really answer your prayer? How about being double-minded, when your circumstance
looks too grim for God to answer? Do you muster up the faith to believe He can do what He says? Or
do you go back and forth, first believing, then not, then believing He can, then believing He can’t…

Remember God’s angels are here to minister to your needs. Are they not all ministering spirits sent
forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14) Here is the scene that I imagine
in Heaven when you are double-minded:

Setting Heaven. The Father is sitting on His throne. Jesus is on His throne at the Father‟s right
hand.

Jesus: Angel, stand up I just had a prayer request from… no, sit back down, he just gave up on his
prayer.

Jesus: Angel, stand up… no sit back down… double-mindedness again.

Jesus: Angel come here… no forget it, he gave up again.

Jesus: Angel… never mind.

Jesus: Angel come here, go down and minister to Mark, he now has faith that I can perform as my
Word says. “All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye received them, and ye
shall have them. (Mark 11:24)

Angel: Yes, Lord I am on my way.

Jesus: Angel I know you are just arriving but you must come back, he is again doubting my Word by
refusing to believe I will do all that I promised. Come back immediately.

Angel: Okay I am back; I will just sit over here and wait for your instructions.

Angel: Lord I am still here, any faith from Mark… I’m ready whenever you say the word.

Jesus: Angel

Angel: Finally!

Jesus: Quickly go before he loses faith again, go down and minister in response to his prayer of
faith; I will send another healing angel with you this time.

Angel: We are now working on Mark according to what he believes. “And these signs will
accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons… they will lay their hands on
the sick, and they will recover." (Mark 16:17, 18) All is going well he is starting to recover.

Jesus: Angels, pack up, it’s time to come back.

Angel: But we are not finished yet! There is still more work to do before he is fully recovered.

Jesus: Angels come back up here, for my word is true and I cannot go against what my word says,
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and
tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he
is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:6-8)

Weeks later… Angel: Lord, have you heard from Mark lately? We are ready to serve him again.

Jesus: Yes, I hear from him but sadly, he is all over the place with his prayers and faith. He is
double-minded and is being tossed to and fro by the winds of doubt. He has now sought other gods
and other methods to heal him. They will not heal him in the long run, only My shed blood can heal
him.

Could this be the scene of our lost battles of faith? Are God and His angels ready to work for us but
we never give them the full opportunity to answer our prayer? Get into the Word of God and read His
promises. Ask God to increase your faith and to take away your doubt and unbelief.

Why Unemployed Angels? Seeking other gods… Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper
chamber in Samaria, and lay sick; so he sent messengers, telling them, "Go, inquire of Baal-zebub,
the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this sickness." But the angel of the LORD said to
Elijah the Tishbite, "Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them, 'Is
it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of
Ekron? Now therefore thus says the LORD, You shall not come down from the bed to which
you have gone up, but you shall surely die.'" So Elijah went. (2 Kings 1:2-4) If we were honest
with ourselves, we put many gods before us to save us in our day to day lives. We use doctors and
medication to save us. We use insurance to save us. We use mechanics to save us… The list goes
on and on. Salvation in Greek means all your needs supplied like a baby is cared for. Jesus wants
to be our Savior in all areas of our lives. Angels are just waiting for us to trust in God so that they can

minister to our needs. It will take time for most of us to completely trust God, but in the mean time our
underemployed angels are waiting.

Why Unemployed Angels? Seeking the arm of flesh instead of God… “Woe to the rebellious
children,” says the LORD, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My
Spirit, That they may add sin to sin; Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My
advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of
Egypt! Therefore the strength of Pharaoh shall be your shame, and trust in the shadow of Egypt
shall be your humiliation. (Isaiah 30:1-3) This passage goes hand in hand with seeking other
gods . Let’s face it, most people trust in the arm of the flesh rather than just pray, wait on God and let
Him take care of our needs. Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes
flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the LORD… “Blessed is the man who trusts in the
LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. (Jeremiah 17:5, 7) We have millions of underemployed angels
at our disposal, but if we just put our hope and trust in the Lord, He would answer our prayers. Most
people put their trust in the strength of the flesh…savings accounts, retirement, security, jobs,
doctors, medication, insurance, whatever… (Isaiah 31:1) Woe to those who go down to Egypt for
help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because
they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the LORD! All of us
must look to the Holy One of Israel more in our lives and less to the things of this world. We must
seek more of the Lord and less of what the world has to offer. Only then will we start utilizing the
unemployed angels who have been waiting for us.

Conclusion

I hope this study has been helpful to train you up in making a bold confession before men. Be
confident that your prayers are heard. Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask
anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask,
we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14, 15) All of our angels are
waiting on us to make the first move of faith. It’s a battle every believer must go through to lay hold on
eternal life. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and
have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. (1 Timothy 6:12) Our
biggest battles are taking place between our ears and in our hearts. We worry about what people will
think and what they will say if we speak something that has not manifested yet. Instead of faith, we
doubt, we think to ourselves I will look foolish if what I confessed doesn’t happen. But if we have
confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses, we will be rewarded now and in
eternity.

The next time you boldly confess the Word in front of someone even when it looks like the exact
opposite; ask them if they agree with you. Why? Because scripture says that “If two of you agree on
earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18:19)
By entering into agreement you have now just released a powerful promise in the Word.

I encourage you to never give up because “the LORD tests the righteous” (Psalm 11:5). You may
have to endure a trial of your faith for a while but keep speaking faith even if God seems far away at
times. God withdrew from him, in order to test him, that He might know all that was in his
heart. (2 Chronicals 32:31) God just may be testing you to see what is really in your heart and after
we endure and hold fast to our faith God will be faithful to that promise. Let us hold fast the
confession of our hope that it waver not; for he is faithful that promised. (Hebrews 10:23)

So in conclusion, I would just like to encourage you to trust in God in all things and He will always
take care of you. He will send His angels when needed and will encamp them around you to protect
you. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways they will lift
you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. (Psalm 91:11, 12)

In fact if we had spiritual eyes to see, we may be surprised at the angels around us ready to do the
Lord’s work at a moment’s notice. Just because you cannot see them does not mean they are not
there. And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army,
surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master!
What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those
who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may
see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the
mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. (2 Kings 6:15-17) Praise God!
The Lord protects those who are His. Call upon Him; confess Him boldly because He is your Savior!
