Training 6 hours (Day 3-4, Time: 01:00-04:00 PM)

Hours
Overview In this context, to incorporate an effective teaching in class, teachers must
deal in creating an effective lesson plan intended for each subject matter.
Gabriel Ejitokun (2019) states that a lesson plan is a clear working
document for the teacher. In addition, lesson plan is the instructor’s road
map of what students need to learn and how it will be done effectively
during the class time (Sudhakar, 2017). There is also a Deped order about
lesson planning, the DepEd Order No. 42, s 2016 Policy Guidelines on Daily
Lesson Operation for the K-12 Basic Education Program states that
“Planning lessons is fundamental to ensuring the delivery of teaching and
learning in schools. These guidelines aim to support teachers in organizing
and managing their classes and lessons effectively and efficiently and
ensure the achievement of learning outcomes.” With this it is needed that a
teacher should be knowledgeable in constructing an effective lesson plan in
every subject for an effective teaching-learning process. As lesson plan
produces unified lessons, Jensen, (2001) stated that it will give an
opportunity to think deliberately about the choice of their obejctives, the
types of activities, the materials needed and on how to take effect the said
lesson plan. With regards to the objectives, Lorin Anderson(Bloom's former
student) and David Krathwohl work together and created the revised
taxonomy. The revised taxonomy that reflect the relevance to 21 st century
work provides a framework that helps educators in formulating learning
outcomes. It is composed of six hierarchical levels of thinking which
includes the following: remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate and
create.(Lucas & Corpuz, 2014). The teachers who plan the lesson
beforehand suggest their commitment toward teaching and will get positive
respond from students (Harmer, 2007, cited by Laia, 2019)).
Sudhakar (2017) also stated that, “Good lesson planning is essential to the
process of teaching and learning. A teacher who is prepared is well on
his/her way to a successful instructional experience. “
Targets/ At the end of 6-hour session, the participants shall have:
Objectives
1. Recognize the kinds, format, and components of a lesson plan.
2. Identify the encountered strengths and weakness in creating a lesson plan
3. Apply the concepts of Revised Taxonomy in doing the lesson plan
4. Participate in the discussion on how to do an effective lesson planning.
5. Prepare a lesson plan in Araling Panlipunan for Grade 4-6.
6. Assess the formulated lesson plan using a rubric.
Content Activate
Outline The participants will be grouped into five (5) to fill out a KWLH chart about
the concepts of Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy by Anderson and Krathwol.

1. For 2-3 minutes, the participants will ask about what they know
about lesson planning and share their insight on how to make it
effective using the Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy.
TASK: How can Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy used in creating lesson
plan?
2. The participants will be group into 3 to fill out a KWLH chart on the
Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy Action Verbs.

The participants will be giving 10 minutes for brainstorming and

collaboration. Each group will be giving 5 minutes for presentation.

3. The participants will make a concept map showing the kinds, formats and
components of a lesson plan make sure to put a brief description for each
concept found in your concept map. The activity is good for (15 minutes).

ACQUIRE: The facilitators will discuss the topic about creating an effective
lesson plan and how are they going to execute it to have an effective
teaching. The lesson will last for (2-3 hours)
