NOTE
a: Fiber capacity indicates the maximum number of fibers (of the same type) that can be
routed in a cabinet. If cables of multiple types need to be routed in the cabinet, you need
to perform conversion. When selecting a cabinet model, you need to consider the
maximum fiber routing capacity upon expansion.
b: The calculation assumes that one fiber management cabinet is configured at the right
side of the N63B cabinet.

1.2 Guidelines for Placing Cabinets

To ensure proper heat dissipation and maintenance of cabinets, adhere to the
guidelines provided in this section when placing cabinets.
Cabinets are usually installed in a row inside a room. Their positions are shown in
Figure 1-1 and Figure 1-2.
To meet the requirements of heat dissipation and maintenance, keep distances
around a cabinet as follows:
● Keep a minimum distance of 1000 mm (39.4 in.) before a cabinet.
● Keep a minimum distance of 800 mm (31.5 in.) beside both sides of a cabinet.
● Keep a minimum distance of 50 mm behind a cabinet (not required when
cabinets are installed in back-to-back mode).

NOTE

A fiber management cabinet is required only when there are many fibers to manage. When
no fiber management cabinet is configured, follow the preceding guidelines. For
information about a fiber management cabinet, see 3 Fiber Management Cabinet.

1.3 Cabinet Cables

1.3.1 Cabinet Ground Power Cables

One end of the cabinet ground power cables is connected to ground bar in the
equipment room. The other end is connected to the ground bolts at the top of the
cabinet.

Structure

1.3.2 Cabinet Door Ground Cables

A cabinet door ground cable uses one OT one-hole naked crimping connector at
each end. It connects the front door, rear door, or a side panel of the cabinet to
the ground.
