I highly recommend Kendrick Blevins as a candidate for a Physical Education teacher in your
school. I met Kendrick at Birney Elementary School where I am a Teacher Leader and Teacher
Support Coach. I teach elementary students kinesthetic skills and health concepts. I had the
pleasure of mentoring him during his student teaching experience. I noticed that he is a driven,
organized teacher who develops inspiring relationships with his students. I was also impressed
by his work ethic. He student-taught students in the district all day and then worked custodial
services in our building in the evening. He was diligent in keeping our meeting dates and
passing the certification test.

Kendrick has a special quality of demonstrating flexibility and impromptu thinking. I recall an
instance during student teaching and the class he prepared for had a schedule change. The
grade level and standards had to be altered. Without advanced preparation, he was able to
focus on what was important, remain calm and project confidence. I believe that he embraces
the pedagogy and considers the engagement that must take place so that learning can occur.

Kendrick accomplishes these tasks with great initiative and with a positive attitude.
