Task: You have just finished a three-week study and work programme in an English=speaking

country. You studied English language in the mornings and worked for a local company in the
afternoons. The programme organizer asked you to write a report about your experience. In
your report, you should evaluate the programme, explaining which part of the programme was
more useful, and suggest changes you would recommend for next year’s programme.

Introduction
The purpose of this report is to evaluate a tree-week study and work programme in an English-
speaking country based on my own experience.
Studying in the mornings
The main reason I participated in this programme was to improve my English. In my opinion, its
biggest advantage is that it was focused not only on working experience, but on studying, too. It
was really helpful having free time in the morning to revise or learn some new things. Then I had
the opportunity to practice everything I have learnt while working.
Working in the afternoon
Working for the “Leopold corporation” in England was one of the best experiences I have ever
had. On my first day I was really nervous because I did not know anyone. Fortunately, the
workers were informed that I was from a work programme and they showed me around the
building. We had some time to get to know each other and I realized how amazing they are. I
became part of the team immediately and for the three weeks I had the chance to develop my
business and communication skills. In addition, I made some really good friends and I am
looking forward to seeing them again.
Recommendations
Having said that, I would like to make some recommendations. One of the drawbacks of the
programme was that it did not include accommodation. London is a big and expensive city, so
its prices are exorbitant. I would suggest that the programme should include some hotel or
motel offers in order to help the candidates. Overall, it was a one in a lifetime experience that
everyone should try.
