A. Present Simple
Afirmatif Form
- I Speak English
- She speaks English
Negative Form
- You don't speak Spanish
- He doesn't speak French
Usage
1. Facts & Truth
- The sun is bright.
- Pigs don't fly
2. Habits & routines : actions that happen regularly
- I execise every morning
- my father cooks dinner at 6 .p.m.
3. Fixed Arrangements in the near future
- the class starts soon.
- Jenny starts work on Monday
B. Present Continuous
Afirmative Form
- I'm teaching english now
- He's studying math
Negative Form
- I'm not teaching Spanish now.
- He's not studying science.
Usage
1. Actions that are happening right now
- I am teaching gramar
2. Logger actions in progress
- My friends are studying at university
3. Future Plans
- I'm taking a vacation in August.
C. Present Perfect
Afirmative form
- "I have eaten breakfast"
- "Jenny has been to France"
Negative Form
- "I haven't eaten lunch."
- "She hasn't been to Germany"
Usage
1. Actions that happened in the past: when the action happened is not
important or unknown
- I have been to Vietnam
2. Actions Continuing From the Past: Actions that started in the fast, and
continue in the present - Use "For" Or "Since"
- I have known her for 5 years.
- They have been married since May.
D. Present Perfect Continuous
[ I, You, We, They] + have been + Verb+ing
[He, She, It] + has been + Verb+ing
Afirmative form
- I have been preparing this lesson for 2 days.
- Jack has been eating lunch for over an hour.
Negative Form
- I Haven't been sleepng well.
- He hasn't been working all night.
Usage
1. Past actions that recently stopped
- I'm tired beacause i have been running
2. Past actions that are still continuing/happening now - Use "For" or "Since"
- My parents have been hiking since this morning.
1. Fast
A. Fast Simple
Afirmative form
- I ate dinner
- they finished word
Negative Form
- I didn't eat lunch
- We didn't finish the project
Usage
1. Actions that started and ended in the past (ket waktu : for 5 years,
all week, all day, 2 minutes etc)
- they played games last night.
- Lisa lived in London for five years.
B. Fast Continuous
Afirmative form
- I was Teaching
- We were eating
Negative Form
- I wasn't sleeping
- they weren't fighting
Usage
1. Duration in the past - Actions that lasted for some time in the past
(uknown/not important duration)
- Yesterday, I was working in the garden.
2. Interupted actions
- Glen was driving home when he crashed into a tree
- Jane was waiting for us when we got off the plane.
C. Fast Perfect
Afirmative form
- I had watched the video, before i went to bad
- before i went to bed, i had watched the video
Negative Form
- he had not seen her, before he met her.
- before he met her, he had not seen her.
Usage
1. actions that finished before another actions in the past or before a
specific time in the past
- I had seen that movie before he did
- before we arrived, the train had left
2. actions that happened for a certain duration in the past ( for +
duration)
- Dave understood the test because he had studied for a week
D. Fast Perfect Continuous
Afirmative form
- I had been running for 1 hour before i got tired
Negative Form
- Mary hadn't been waiting for longer than 10 minutes when Joey
arrived
Usage
1. Actions that were in progress in the past before some another
actions
- Robin had been studying spanis for 2 years before he went to
spanis
2. Cause of an action or situation in the past
- The road was wet because it had been raining
Future
A. Future Simple
Afirmative form
- I will eat
- they will sleep
Negative Form
- I won't go
- Marry won't(will not) call me
- won't = will not
Usage
1. Firm plans - plans that you know will happen in the future
- I will see you on tuesday
3. Future Predictions
- my soccer team will win the match.
B. Future Continuous
Afirmative form
- I will be visiting spain next year
- My dad will be fixing his car next week.
Negative Form
- I won't be going to work today
- they won't be singing tonight
Usage
1. Future actions that will be on going
- in an hour, i will be arriving home
- in the evening, i will be baking a birthday cake
C. Future Perfect
Afirmative form
- I will have left before she comes home
Negative Form
- They will not have succeeded by then.
Usage
1. Future actions that will happen before another action
- before they arrive, we will have cleaned up the
house
D. Future Perfect Continuous
Afirmative form
- I Will have been raising my cat for 2 months by July
- Next month i will have been studying chinese for two years.
Negative Form
- She will not have been waiting for more than two hours when her
plane finally arrive
Usage
1. Actions that will last for some time, at
certain moment in the future. ( How long and by when)
- They will have been talking for over an hour by time Thomas arives
ongoing action in future + duration + when
2. Cause of a future situation
- Simon will be tired when he gets home becaouse he will have been
exercising for over 2 hours.
