needed vicinity map as their
respondents. Those visitors came to
Letran for different purposes like going
to the cashier, to the accounting office,
visiting the College Deans, and
attending to different events in the
Colegio. On a five-point scale, the
respondents were asked to evaluate
the factors affecting the effectiveness of
the vicinity maps. The research
concluded that the school’s vicinity map
was not as effective as it was before
due to the changing trends of
technology and more and people are
becoming aware of it. This does not,
however, mean that the said vicinity
map is not effective but it could be
improved.
The researchers recommended
that the Colegio use a portable vicinity
map that the users could bring along as
they tour round the Colegio. The
portable vicinity map also included text
to speech for those who are visually
challenged. It was recommended that
future researchers further improve the
vicinity map by doing it across different
formats because the present
researchers did it in Android platform
only.

This study provided an
alternative way of promoting and

distributing SEARCA’s Knowledge
Resources and Placing orders. The
Application software was created using
Eclipse for the Android Application and
PHP for the administrators’ website.
This study had two types of accounts,
the Administrator and User. It allowed
the user to view, download and order
different knowledge resources of
SEAMEO SEARCA. The users can
also search by year and by keywords of
the title of the knowledge resource they
want to view, download or order. The
administrator can add, edit, delete,
update and receive the user’ order
through his registered email.
The android application was
tested in different android operating
system and different processors in
different screen sizes with fifteen
respondents consisting of five
personnel in Knowledge Resource Unit
(KRU), and ten selected scholars with
android devices. They rated the system
Very Good.. This proved that the
application was really helpful to the
company in providing their knowledge
resources.

The GMSI used manual
processing of recording all the
transactions of pay slips and payroll
through Microsoft Excel which served
as their database but this often resulted
to common problems such as data
duplication and loss.
The proponents developed a
web-based payroll system to help the
Accounting and Human Resource
assistants in managing their payroll and
pay slip, to organize and secure
database where they can store the
data, and to help minimize the
problems. The proposed system was
hoped to provide improvement to their
current process.
In the process of analyzing the
procedures for the development of the
system, the proponents gathered data
through interview with the personnel in
the Finance and Human Resource
Department.. Survey questionnaires, on
the other hand, were to evaluate the
system.

Course Assessment and
Evaluation System (CAE) was
developed for the School of Computer

Studies and Technology in Colegio de
San Juan de Letran Calamba to
improve and ensure the good quality of
the major courses that they offer to the
students. The system aimed to
determine the overall perception of the
students on their courses. in order to
enhance the courses that the School
offers to the students. This system
would determine the weakness of a
course through the help of the students
who evaluate the courses.
To develop the system, the
researchers interviewed the people
who will be using the system, and
searched for references of information
from the library and websites. The
Iterative Waterfall Model was used in
the development of the system. Survey
forms were distributed to 368 enrolled
students of the School of Computer
Studies to determine the usability of the
system. The students strongly agreed
that the system was easy to use and
understand; provided good interface
and user friendly; helped them to
assess and evaluate their courses; and
showed accurate results based on the
student’s evaluation.
