OVERVIEW
Each year in September, the UN Member States meet in New York for the annual
United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to consider the most pressing global
challenges. But this year’s UN General Assembly will be a little different. For the 75th
anniversary of the UN General Assembly, the event will be held almost entirely
online.

This means that for the first time in its history, no matter where people are in the
world - or who they are - they will have an opportunity to participate.

For over a decade, Business Fights Poverty, t he world's largest business-led network
for social impact, has played a key role during the UNGA week events, and this year is
no different.

Building on the success of our July online events, we are holding virtual sessions
from 21-25 September across a range of engaging topics. All participation is free
and attendees can register here.

As our world is faced with insurmountable challenges, never has it been more
urgent to build partnerships and forge collaborations that can help create a more
equitable and resilient future and support the Sustainable Development Goals.

Hashtag - Why #RebuildBetter

COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, devastating impacts on the lives,
livelihoods and learning of millions of people, particularly the most vulnerable. While
efforts have rightly focused on mitigating the immediate impacts, efforts to recover
and rebuild must be front of mind, because action taken now will have long-lasting
effects on people's well-being and resilience.

We as a community have the opportunity and the responsibility to act now to build a
better future. Collectively during UNGA week,, we will set out a vision for what
“better” looks like - at the level of society, business and the individual, and spark
collaborative action to make this a reality.
