Board of Education Special Meeting Highlights from January 7, 2021

The Durham Public Schools Board of Education met at 5:02 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 2021, and
considered an agenda that included the following highlights.
Bettina Umstead opened the meeting by extending a warm welcome to everyone who was in attendance via
Zoom video conferencing.as well as to the listening television viewers. She then asked everyone to join her in
a moment of silence.

Agenda Review and Approval

Mike Lee moved to approve the agenda as presented. Natalie Beyer seconded, and the agenda was approved
and passed unanimously via roll call vote.

The following items were presented:
• Vaccine Timeline – ABC Collaborative
• Update from Durham County Public Health
• DPS COVID-19 and Plan B Readiness Dashboard Update
• Plan B or Plan C Discussion and Vote – Proceeding with Plan C for the remainder of the 2020-21
school year was approved and passed unanimously via roll call vote
