Individual Assignment: Your leadership "Point of


View" - Scenario 2
Following is my 2 minutes “Point of View” speech to my team as a new leader so to
capture their attention and make them excited to keep listening me for the rest of the
time.
I have heard much about you and it is exciting for me to become part of your team. But
before we begin, I would like to introduce myself to expose who I really am, because I
believe that the more my team knows the real me, the more likely they are going to trust
me.
I am a Mechanical Engineer by profession and have achieved Master’s degree in
Business Administration. Throughout my academic and professional careers, I have led
many great teams, won several competitions and achieved some toughest of the
targets. The thing I believe to be the key to success is “Perfection”. The sense of
becoming perfect is so deeply rooted in me that I accept nothing less than perfect. These
quality results are only possible due to extra ordinary efforts of me and my teammates.
Trust me, the changes you feel after you bring something new, something better than
ordinary, make you motivated and inspire you and bring you fulfillment.
Therefore, my aim here as a leader is to help. To help my fellows to produce the best
work of their career life. To withdraw from old ways of doing things and to accomplish
something far greater than ordinary.
Achieving the great is not an easy task but it’s not impossible either. For that, we should
prepare ourselves to put extra efforts. And I believe that every task is possible if we are
really willing to achieve it. Yes, initially we might face some difficulties but whenever
there is a difficulty ahead, I always remember this beautiful verse of the Holy Quran,
“There is nothing for man except what he strives for”.
So, everything is possible for us, we should just be willingly enough to achieve it.
Similarly, from now on, my focus here will in building trustworthy relationship based on
mutual respect and cooperation. I shall always understand your point of views and the
person to bring the new ideas shall be encouraged. We will also analyze our
shortcomings and will try to find a solution to it together. This shall strengthen our team
work and cooperation and shall create feelings of synergy.
Lastly, it is true that in the absence of goals and objectives, a person gets tired of
repeated work and get demotivated and his efficiency of work will continue to decrease.
Keeping this in our minds, we shall develop our objectives and shall link it with
company’s vision and mission. Because, you should know that it is you whose efforts
really make a difference!
