INSUFINE® - VI 615
(BAKING INSULATING VARNISH – CLASS ‘F’)

PRODUCT

INSUFINE®-VI 615 is an impregnating varnish based on modified orthophthalic alkyd. The

solvent used are mild enough not to have any deleterious effect on enameled wires.

APPLICATION

INSUFINE® - VI 615 is ideally suited for impregnation of all wire wound motors of thermal
rating ‘F’.

INSUFINE® - VI 615 can be applied by brush, dip or spray impregnation.

Dip application: The windings are heated to 105oC and then cooled to 40oC or 5oC above
ambient. The preheated windings are kept in the impregnation chamber and evacuated. After
a vacuum level of 10-15mm is reached, the vacuum valve is shut and the varnish is allowed
to rise from the bottom valve. Allow the winding to remain completely soaked for at least
one hour. The varnish is now drained back to the storage tank.

Spray or Brush application: The winding is heated to 105oC and then cooled to 40oC and
INSUFINE®-VI 615 is applied.

APPLICABLE STANDARDS

INSUFINE® - VI 615 generally meets the requirements of IS: 10026-1999.

Fire hazard class : Inflammable

Flash point : Not below 23o C
Precautions : As a general rule, inhalation of solvent vapours or
varnish mist must be avoided. Forced ventilation
must be provided while applying the paint. Wear
protective clothing like face-mask, gloves and
overalls.

STORAGE AND HANDLING

Storage : Store in a cool, dry place.

Shelf life : Minimum 12 months when stored in original sealed
containers.
Disposal : Dispose by incineration or as per local regulations.
