INTRODUCTION
This Component Maintenance Manual (CMM) agrees with the requirements that are given in Air Transport
Association (ATA) specification iSpec 2200. It is written in Simplified English created by the AeroSpace
and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD). With the data in this CMM a mechanic who does
not know the product can put it back to serviceable condition. The CMM includes routine servicing and
maintenance that is necessary to maintain the passenger seats in a satisfactory operating condition
during its life cycle.
2. Manufacturing
A. Make sure the manual contains the data applicable to your component. Look at the title page for
the part number.
B. If it is necessary to identify a part or to find a part number, refer to the Introduction in the
ILLUSTRATED PARTS LIST (IPL) .
C. You must use the instructions in this manual for all the component maintenance. Read all the
applicable WARNINGS and CAUTIONS before you do the work on the component.
A. This CMM will be revised when necessary and will show new data or will include modifications. All
changes to the text are identified by a revision marker in the left-hand margin, opposite the change(s)
only.
B. There are separate service bulletins. Their effect on this manual will show in reissues of the
applicable list of service bulletins.
A. Read and obey all WARNINGS, CAUTIONS and NOTES in this CMM.
WARNING
(a) A warning tells you that injury or death is possible if the instructions are not obeyed.
– Warnings must always be put before the work step to which they apply.
– They must give data about the risk where it is not easily seen.
– Warnings are printed in bold capital letters.

TASK 25-20-35-870-001-A01
1. General
This page block gives a description of the passenger seat and data on operation and use. Nomenclatures
used for parts in the description and illustrations agree with nomenclatures in ILLUSTRATED PARTS
LIST (IPL) .
The description enables repair personnel to become familiar with the components and gives identification
data of the major sub-assemblies, modules and parts for removal purposes. You can also use data in this
page block to do training in the use of the seat components in their normal operational setting.

3. Description
The seats described in this CMM are made in versions. Figure 1 shows the main assemblies of the seats.
The seats are made on modular basis to make the maintenance and repair procedures easier. All of the
modules can be easily removed from the seat with a minimum of tools.
A. Backrest
Backrest recline position is controlled by a cylinder assy. Intermediate stops can be set to limit the
way of the backrest. The control button is located on the armrest.
A literature pocket is installed on the rear side of the backrest (not in the LR seats).
B. Armrest
A cupholder is installed in the table. It can be used during upright position of the table.
The control button for the backrest recline is located on the inner face of the armrests.
The control button for the legrest recline is located on the inner face of the armrest (Applicable for
crew rest seat only).
C. Armrest Table
D. Literature Pocket
The literature pocket is installed at the rear side of the backrest, below the backrest table. The
passenger in the row behind can use the literature pocket to stow e.g. the magazines.
E. Lifevest Pouch
The lifevest box is installed to the front beam and the baggage bar of the seat structure. There is a
red pull-strap below the seat cushion. The pull-strap is attached to the lifevest pouch.
F. Baggage Bar
The baggage bar is installed to the seat structure to make sure that the baggage does not move out
unintentionally during flight.
G. Steward Step

H. Legrest
The legrest is installed to the crew rest seat. The control button is located on the IAT armrest.
I. Footrest
The footrest is installed at the rear side of the backrest. The passenger in the row behind can use
the footrest.
The seat assemblies are attached to the mounting tracks of the aircraft with a front stud located at the
bottom of the front seatleg and the rear fitting located at the bottom of the rear seatleg.
K. Headrest
The dress cover is attached to the seat cushion and to the backrest cushion.
The seat cushions are attached to the seat with hook tapes and loop tapes. They can be easily
removed from the seat structure.

1. IPL Introduction
A. General
This Illustrated Parts List (IPL) gives illustrations and a breakdown of all assemblies that can be
disassembled, repaired or replaced and reassembled.
2. Material Arrangement
A. Introduction
(1) The introduction has all explanatory information about the individual sections that are necessary
for use of this IPL. Subsequently, the introduction has a list of abbreviations used in the Detailed
Parts List as well as a list of manufacturer codes, names and addresses.
B. Alpha/Numerical Index
(1) This section has a list of part numbers of all items recorded in the Detailed Parts List. These
part numbers are put in alpha-numerical sequence and are cross referenced to the respective
Figure/Item Numbers and to the number of units per assembly.
(2) The part number sequence starts at the leftmost (first) position as follows:
— numerals 0 through 9.
— a dash,
— numerals 0 through 9.
(a) The first number in the first line of a page shows the number of the Figure that illustrates
the part, the second number shows the item number by which you can find the part on the
illustration. A dash placed before the item number indicates that the part is not illustrated.
(a) The Part Number column has the original manufacturer's part number. When a part
number has been allocated to a "bought in" item, this ident number is also shown in
the Nomenclature column.
1 The indenture system shows the relationship of parts and assemblies to next higher
assemblies or installations, as follows:

Attaching parts for sub-assembly
***

***
Detailed parts for sub-sub-assembly etc.
1 Attaching Parts are captioned ATTACHING PARTS and are listed immediately after
the parts attached.
2 The *** symbol follows the last item of the attaching parts group.
(a) The Effectivity Code column establishes parts relationship with units or assemblies
which are essentially the same but have minor deviations. These units or assemblies
are assigned with reference letters such as A, B, C, etc. Parts which are not common
to all configurations but are associated with one or more of the coded lead items, carry
the letter or letters assigned to the lead item with which it is associated. Where a part is
common to all lead items, the effectivity column is left blank.
(a) This column contains the quantity of a specific catalogue sequence numbered part
necessary in the build sequence of only one (where more than one exists), next higher
sub-sub-assembly, sub-assembly, assembly, or installation level as applicable. For bulk
items, the letters "AR" are inserted in the quantity column to indicate "as required". Where
items are listed for reference purposes, "RF" is inserted.
A. General
(a) Find the part number in the numerical index. Note down Figure and item number.
(c) Use the item number to find the part in the illustration or in the Parts List.
(a) Refer to Figure 1 and look for the title of the Figure in which the part should be shown.
