AUDITION SURVIVAL

TOOLKIT
Be prepared for a day in the
waiting room beyond the
traditional audition materials.

1 LACROSSE BALL
Whether you are singing, acting, or dancing, this
ball is key for those muscles that cramp up. Have
some soreness at the bottom of your feet? Roll your
foot. Have cramping in your calf? This ball will take
care of it.

2 BOTTLED WATER
It is so easy to forget something as simple as
staying hydrated at an audtion. Having a bottle of
water with you makes the world of a difference.

3 EXTRA SHOES
Have you ever been without your dance shoes and
get called back to dance? Have you ever been
without comfortable shoes and you had to trek
home in your fierce and uncomfortable heels? They
may take up space in your bag, but it is worth it.

4 HEADPHONES
The noisy reunions and colorful chatter in a waiting
room can be very draining and stress inducing
while you wait to sing your 16 bars. This goves you
the option of listening to some music, reviewing
the accompaniment to your song, or catching up
on a Netflix show.

5 HEALTHY SNACKS
There are some auditions where leaving the
waiting room to go get some food for lunch is not a
good option. You could miss your turn and be
bumped down to the end of the list, putting you at
risk for never getting seen. Pack some healthy
snacks in your bag to prevent starvation.

6 PEN/PENCIL
Having this tool on you is small and mighty at
auditions. Save yourself the embarrassment of
having to ask a room full of strangers for a pen to
sign your name in or a pencil to mark your music.
Just keep one in your bag at all times.
