A. Choose the correct words in italics. In some places both answers are possible. (Defining relative clauses)

B. Complete the advertisement. Put in who, whom, whose, which, where or why. (Defining and non-defining
relative clauses)

The town of Keswick which lies at the heart of Lake District, is the perfect place for a holiday, and the Derwent
Hotel, 1which overlooks the town, is the perfect place to stay. Robin and Wendy Jackson, 2who bought this small

C. Complete the sentences with a relative pronoun if necessary. If a relative pronoun is not necessary, write ‘ – ‘

D. Rewrite the sentences; join the pairs of sentences using relative clauses. Use commas in correct places if it is a
non-defining relative clause. Omit the relative pronoun if possible.
