INTERVIEWER: Hello Mam Alma Gador, good morning
MAM ALMA: Good morning din.
INTERVIEWER: Mam I’m happy that you gave me your time to have an interview with you
about my study titled “Instructional leadership in the 21st Century. Mam as school leader in this
school what are the school management practices do you employ?
MAM ALMA: With regards to school management practices I employ in this school, I have the
SIP as well as the road map in achieving our goals because I believe that a well prepared SIP is
an important tool in the success of every school every school endeavour for running an
institution, and I think it is the best in reaching the goal of the school that we have a solid and
well established SIP, because as I have said it serves as a guide and starting point to the
success and failure of our school. Mostly I believe that the total ability of school depends on how
it is being planned, so as our road map we are following that is our school improvement mam
INTERVIEWER: Wow that’s great mam, how about.. do you have an organization in your school
mam?
MAM ALMA: Of course I have an organization we have the teacher’s application, the parent-
teachers association in which we collaborate with them whenever we have the project in our
school and it seems that they are very cooperative and they are a big help in our school, as
school head I have the coordinator in each subject areas so that if ever there is a program to be
implemented they are the one responsible to guide other teachers and how the program will be
implemented
INTERVIEWER: Ah nice to hear that mam, in managing the organization have you ever
encountered problems and if there are problems how do you address those problems?
MAM ALMA: In every organization there will be problems, but when we encountered problem I
consult the colleagues regarding on how to solve those problems. Sometimes if it is financial,
especially if there is a late downloading of funds we try to solve it as a group Mam, I ask them
on how to bring about this problem to be implemented even if we have no fund yet, and as what
I have said their parents and our endeavours
INTERVIEWER: Ah thank you mam, how about mentoring mam, how do you practice mentoring
your teachers
MAM ALMA: As instructional leader it is one of our duties to observe the teachers and of
course there will be technical assistance given to teachers, we try to assess their strengths and
weaknesses and of course address their weaknesses by giving technical assistance to them,
particularly in teaching learner courses.
INTERVIEWER: Ah thank you mam. Mam for you as instructional leader how do you evaluate
the performance and skills of your students, are there measuring tools to evaluate the
performance?
