Introduction
The cable interface box (CIB), located on the cylinder control modules (CCM) and main
control modules (MCM), is one possible cause for earth faults and unspecified
shutdowns and trips.
The soldering lugs on the circuit board of the CIB can be too long. If the soldering lugs
are too long, they can get in contact with the CIB casing and cause a short circuit.
Marks caused by a short circuit can be seen in Figure 1.

Figure 1, Marks on the CIB casing under the circuit board caused by short circuit

Inspection
If unspecified trips occur or if there are earth faults for which no reason can be found,
check the CIB casing under the circuit board for marks of short circuit.

Recommendation
Replace the CIB, if marks of short circuit are found.
Do not cut the soldering lugs due to the risk of damaging the circuit board.

W50DF
Check if the cable interface box for CCM 10 is equipped with a knock sensor
failure detection (KSFD) card and take further actions according to the ordering
instructions on page 4.
