 PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
The production department is responsible for converting inputs into outputs through the stages
of production processes. The Production Manager is responsible for making sure that raw
materials are provided and made into finished goods effectively.

In the garment industry, stitching section considered as production department. However, fabric
cutting and garment finishing sections are part of the garment production department we have
multiple stages of production some listed below.

 CUTTING
 STITCHING
 WASHING
 FINISHNG & PACKIGING

CUTTING
Cutting in initial stage of production, we need to get fabric in house so that we can start further
working usually fabric consume the highest lead-time we have to make sure the availability on
time we have a warehouse and quarantine area for storage of fabric after that team start
inspection the roll of fabric either there is any issue with fabric or not, we have a test machine for
fabric the next process is to get swatches sample 50 by 50 from the roll for monitor to measure
the shrinkage also determine the shade of swatches then we have to get fabric relax as per buyer
requirement then we need to proceed the fabric for cutting through cutter machine we have 4
tables of cutting three are manual and one is automated machine.

STITCHING
After the cutting the next phase is stitching in assembly line stitching start with small parts of
garment like yoke, pocket lining, lopes etc then we move for front panel, back panel and all trims
are usually add after wash of garment so, basically we have multiple lines for stitching all lines
stitch different part of garment according to instruction and at the end all parts are assembled for
proper garment we have stitching capacity is 20000 per day after the stitching all garment will
move in washing department.

WASHHING
We have different type of washing according to garment some garment are directly ready for
wash and some need scraping first it’s include spray, wrinkles & shades etc. Therefore, the
washing is beginning after the scraping like stone wash, bleach, colors & shades. After that, we
have to check the family of individual garment all shades should be same as buyer sample if it is
not than we will have to amend in washing and match our wash with sample garment. We use
here netting effect for light and dark shade usually we have minimum four and maximum 6
shades according to shade then will go for acid wash.

FINISHING & PACKAGING

After the wash garment will move in finishing department the first stage of finishing is, cropping
the threads then will apply label according to SO (sale order) and size, color. Then garment is
ready for trims like rivet & buttons then air process will start for clear dust of stone wash. Then
we need to check measurement of waist according to labeling after that QC will check the whole
garment if found any stain so garment should be free from stain through thinner. Then garment is
ready for audit after apply hand tag then garment will pass through metal detector machine,
alarm will punch at the end so we can go for packaging and put the bar code for scanning and
store the cartons in ware house for shipment. Then will offer for final audit and online store for
QC to buyer.

FINAL COMMENTS
Although we have expert teams but only we have to organize and make proper planning for
execute the plan. Again, I would like to say we have to work on coordination and integration
among the department so that we can get the freedom with all type of blame games.
