TOPIC: Can Artificial Intelligence replace Human Intelligence?

Venue
Screening Round : MDP Room and Mini Auditorium at IMS Ghaziabad
Reporting Time: 9:30 am
Final Round : IMS Auditorium from 2pm Onwards

Awards:

1. Certificates will be provided to each participant.


2. Appreciation letters will be provided to all the winners along with cash prize and
trophies. The First Prize Winner will get Rs. 5000/-each in both the categories , the
Second Prize Winner Rs. 4000/-each in both the categories and the Third Prize
Winner Rs. 3000/- each in both the categories as the cash prizes
3. Four ‘Rising Star Debater’ Prizes will also be given Rs 1000/-each
4. Five Consolation prizes will also be given .

Screening Round

Rules:

1. Each participant will be allowed to speak for maximum 2 minutes. There is no minimum
limit.
2. There will NOT be any rebuttal or question-answer round during screening.

3. The jury members will also not ask any questions.

4. The topic of screening is same as that of the main competition. The participants can speak
either in favor of or against the topic but you have to be on the same side for both the rounds
of the competition – screening and final.

5. The participants can speak in English or Hindi.

6. The result of screening will be declared when the Final Round of the Competition starts
7. Judges decision will be final and binding for all.

8. The institute, organizers and the judges have the right to cancel the participation of any
candidate in case of any derogatory, offensive or objectionable statement against anything or
anybody

Final Round

Rules:

1. There will be two sides – affirmative and negative. The participants, therefore,
could speak either against or for the motion as mentioned during screening.
2. The participation will be individual, not as teams.

3. The minimum time for evaluation is 2 minutes and the maximum time allotted is only 4
minutes. On completion of 3 minutes, the warning bell will be rung.

4. Each speaker will be questioned only once by their opponent as soon as they conclude
their constructive speech.
5. Use of PPT, audio or videos is not allowed.
6. Reading from the paper is not allowed. Only data (digits) can be read from the single piece
of paper.
7. The participants must take care that they do not use derogatory, offensive or objectionable
statements against anything or anybody.
8. Jury’s decision will be final and binding for all.
9. The participation is allowed in English and Hindi both.
10. The organizers reserve the right to add or change the rules even without prior
information.
