 The requirement of power for Node B

1. In the case when the RRU is installed outdoor, the lightningproof equipment between DC
the power cabinet and RRU is necessary, without it, if lightning strike happens in RRU
power cables, the power system may be damaged possibly.

2. The switch provided by client which connects with RRU and BBU power cables must
comply with the design standard ,the limit electric current of switch for BBU is 6A,and the
one for RRU is 10A.

 The power requirement of Node B

According to the description of document (Annex 2_2 SoR_ part 1a_ 081107 TSD
Comments (3.1)) , VimpelCom has responsibility to provide DC power to NodeB (BBU
and RRU), in this case, when VimpelCom prepares the power system, please take into
account these two points (providing the DC-Box with lightningproof function and the
matched switch). So we should announce that if VimpelCom does not provide such DC-
BOX, Huawei has no liability for this possible damage of the power system.

 The explanation of the scheme
In order to avoid the potential damage of the power system, the client should add a DC-
BOX between the DC Power cabinet and RRU in outdoor and the DC-BOX must have the
function to prevent client’s power cabinet to be damaged if lightning strike happens in
RRU power cables in outdoor.

Huawei can provide such DC-BOX, if VimpelCom wants Huawei to provide such
equipment, we can add it into specification. This DC-BOX has one channel for -48V DC
input and six channels for DC output. The input channel connects with switch of power-
supplied cabinet and two output channels which limit electric current is 6A connect with
BBU power cables, for the other four output channels which limit electric current is
10A,three of them connect with RRU power cabinet and the remainder one is on standby.
All of the output channels have lightningproof function of DC 15KA.
