Career Research

My chosen career is healthcare. The history of healthcare was invented during 1900’s when

health insurance was invented by Theodore Roosevelt. In the passage the president made a

statement while preparing the insurance “No country could be strong whose people were sick

and poor”. After the president stated his statement he didn’t charge for stronger health insurance.

Healthcare is a job were people who get injuries or having to work in a nursing home, is having

to make sure everyone is protected and safe when going on dangerous jobs. I’m interested in

healthcare, because I like to help people out. Being in the medical can be stressful or hard, but

it’s about saving lives or taking care of someone who isn’t able to take care of themselves.

In healthcare that are a lot duties. The biggest one in the healthcare field is the healthcare

administrator. The are all kinds of duties as hospice, nurse assistant, and healthcare mangers.

there are 59 million healthcare workers worldwide. The most trending are nursing, not because

they make more, but because they do somewhat what a healthcare worker does. Nursing is

related because they have to check on the person and make sure everything is okay with the

patient. The role of being a healthcare worker depends on their education, training, and

experience that the nurse has already. Healthcare workers either work 8-12 hour shifts just

depending on where they work at. Nothing changes in the hours of working when the season

changes, daylight or dark. Healthcare workers split their 12 hours shits. Some work day and

other work night, some even travel, but during the season it’s tricky due to snow so sometimes

they have to delay working.

The qualifications of being a healthcare are easy. Healthcare doesn’t allow minors. To be a

healthcare worker you have to be 18 and up, but have to have experience and went to college for

school. Yes you have to train in healthcare, because there are different positions. Both genders

can work as a healthcare worker. Yes there are health and physical in healthcare. To become a

healthcare worker you have to go to school and take al the classes required to be a healthcare

worker. There are different classes, but you have to take up to 4-5 classes to be able to become a

nurse. There is healthcare worker test you have to take in order to get the job. There are no

common method in healthcare.

Healthcare workers work up to 12 hours shifts, but it the paying depends on your position of the

job, experience, and years you have been working there. If you have been working for over 20

years then your making $11.86/hour. Healthcare workers get paid more depending the medical

field they are in like a doctor gets paid more than a nurse working in a nursing home. The

expectational salary for healthcare workers are very different, it just depends on what medical

position you are working for. Healthcare workers go through automobile expenses, cell phones

and internet access, computer purchases, books, education/examinations /licenses, and insurance.

When wanting to be a healthcare worker you have to go to school and do training. There are a

ton of schools that do healthcare like the University of Alabama, University of Michigan, Ohia

State University, and Medical University of South Carolina. Healthcare is also in the military

also. The healthcare is very much related to a healthcare worker working in a hospital. Just like a

normal training for a nurse, in the military, the people practice everything they need to know in

case of emergency occurs. There are scholarships in healthcare. You might know some like The

Brown Medical and Educational Foundation Healthcare Scholarship, The Pearl Mae Foundation

Scholarship for Healthcare and First Responders, and The Desire To Inspire Scholarship. The job

that a person applies for does provide on job training.

The benefits I want to gain from this job are bonus pay for healthcare workers and first

responders, disability and death benefits for public safety officers, and aid for firefighters for

FEMA. Working in the medical field is very exposure, because you are being exposed to

infections, diseases, toxic substances, stress, violence in the workspace, chemical, biological,

physical, and psychosocial hazards.

The chances for advancement in healthcare are very important to the workers. In healthcare

people are promoted just like anybody that is promoted to manager. When being promoted in

healthcare, it really means your pursing a new job role in the nursing, doctor or anything dealing

with the medical field. Yes, the advancement does require training, because if you are going to a

new job dealing with nursing. You have to have experience with the job that you got promoted

too. Working as a RN, you have to know what to do and how to do it also. Yes they are required

additional duties. When working a new role in healthcare they are jobs you have to do and

follow. You have to follow the directions that are given to you. There are education for this field,

but people to only go to school for what they wanted to studied in the medical field.

I would realize I wanted to do be a healthcare worker when I watched my mom be a nurse for 20

years. I really like helping others. I learned in healthcare that there are a lot of studying and

learning new things. In healthcare there are a lot of new information that you have to learn on

your own. I want to be able to do my best at being a nurse, doctor, first responder, or anything

that is in the healthcare field.
