BADESHA'S CLASSROOM

TRANSITIONING
TO
KINDERGARTEN

“KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN ARE

CONFIDENT IN SPIRIT, INFINITE IN
RESOURCES AND EAGER TO LEARN.
EVERYTHING IS STILL POSSIBLE.” -
ROBERT FULGHUM
Ms. Badesha's Teaching
Philosophies

I believe that having an inviting space

that nourishes creativity and
imagination is an integral component
within a classroom community.

I believe that the classroom should be

a safe, welcoming space open to
everyone regardless of their
background, religion or identity.

I believe play holds an integral role

in a child’s learning.

I believe that choice is an important

contributor to the way a student
learns, both in methods of learning
and flexible seating.

I believe that there are different ways of

knowing and recognizing that learning is
individualistic, is key in adapting to how
every student can successfully learn.
Transition Support
What we can both do to support your child's transition.

As a teacher:
We will get to your know child and figure out what
works best for them.
We will learn their interests and find a way to adapt
them to curriculum.Gradual entry.
We will try a multitude of learning methods to see
what is best suited to YOUR child.
We will learn about social norms, our feelings, how to
solve problems and self-regulation.

As a parent:
Use descriptive phrases.
Encouraging children when facing challenges.
Make sure they get enough sleep.
Talk to children often and meaningfully.
Remember, to not stress yourselves out because we
are in this together!
Classroom
communication

I will send out an email with a link,

please accept the request, that way
you will not miss out on any
announcements.

I will be sending home paper

newsletters as well, because
sometimes, let’s face it, technology
can go awry.

If you are interested in exchanging

information with the other parents
of our classroom, for support, we
can start a group.

My email is [insert email here.] Please

do not hesitate to contact me.

Open door policy - I am always at school

until [this time], feel free to drop by.
Remember the door is always open to
discuss anything. We are doing this
together, as co-teachers.
