Guess that Animal!

What’s your favourite

animal body part?
My favourite:
an elephant trunk!

Elephant noses are

called trunks - they can
collect water and help an
elephant give itself a
bath!
Animal Body Parts
Sometimes animals have different body parts than humans.

Examples of these are bird wings or a turtle shell.

These body parts can do some super cool things!

Wings help birds move and fly, and a shell protects a turtle from danger.
Animal Body Parts
Choose a body part to predict about!

MOUTH TAIL

NOSE EYES

FEET EARS
Whose tail is it?
What does it do?
A Skunk!
Skunks are known for being really
smelly animals. They spray a liquid with
a strong and unpleasant smell.
Skunk tails are used to
warn other animals!

Skunks show their tail to warn other

animals that they are about to spray
their unpleasant liquid.
Whose mouth is it?
What else can it do?
A Pelican!
Pelicans are large water birds. They are
a predator animal and try their best to
capture fish right out of the water.
A pelican’s mouth is used as
a net to scoop up fish!

When searching for food, pelicans use

their large throat pouch to capture
different fish and animals right out of
the water.
Whose nose is it?
What else can it do?
A Mole!
Moles like to dig underground with their
large paws. But it gets really dark
underground and their eyes don’t really
help them see in the dark.
A mole’s nose is used to
touch and feel in the dark!

When digging underground, a mole uses

its nose to feel around and help it
figure out where to go.
Whose eyes are they?
What else can they do?
A Four-Eyed Fish!
Four-eyed fish have eyes raised above
the top of their head. As they swim
through the water, their eyes are split
into two different parts.
A four-eyed fish can see
above and below the water
at the same time!

The fish’s eyes are split into two parts

so they can see what is happening all
around them while they swim.
Whose ears are they?
What else can they do?
A bat!
Bats are nocturnal animals meaning
they are awake during the night. They
have tiny eyes which can make it hard
to find food in the dark sometimes.
A bat’s ears are used to help
them see in the dark!

Bats use echolocation, which is a

method of using sound to locate where
things are around them.
Whose feet are they?
What else can they do?
A gecko!
Geckos are small to medium sized
lizards. They are nocturnal animals,
meaning they are awake during the
night. During the day, they crawl all over
in search of warm spaces where they
can hide.
A gecko’s feet are sticky so
they can crawl on any
surface!

Gecko’s sticky feet allow them to

crawl up walls and also crawl upside
down without ever falling.
