INTRODUCTION
------------
The ocean. It drifts in and out... It flows steadily. The tides... They shape
your destiny. That is the basis of the game Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny.
You have control over your ocean of adventure. Which path will you take?

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny is the second console game in the Rune Factory
series, with the first one being Rune Factory: Frontier. As a massive Rune
Factory fanboy after my nearly blind buy of Rune Factory: Frontier, I couldn't
help but write a FAQ for this game; partially because of the bounty and
partially because there was no FAQ/Walkthrough for it. Mostly because I sunk
over 100 hours in it within a week somehow and found free time afterwards.
I'll try as best as I can to turn those hundreds of hours into valuable info
for those that are stuck in the game somewhere, or for those that want to
learn something new... somehow. Either way, your Rune Factory buddy
InfernoCrossing is on the case!

+VERSION HISTORY+
+++++++++++++++++

V. 1.0: December 17-18, 2011

So after finally getting my Wii repaired after it was broken for over a year,
I decided to celebrate by playing Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny which I
bought the weekend it was released. I owned it for almost two hellish months
before I could actually play it. While I played it, though, I noticed there
wasn't a FAQ/Walkthrough up where I can find out which character likes what
item. After another week or so of sitting on my ass doing nothing, I decided
to sit on my arse while making a much-needed Walkthrough for this game.
In this update:

-Skeletal Table of Contents added

-Basic info on all islanders finished
-Small bios for all marriage candidates finished
-Walkthrough Part 1 started
-Info on Earth Shrine started
-Legal Stuff finished
-Contact Information finished
-First attempt to submit to Gamefaqs for approval

It'll take me a bit to get through the actual shrine walkthrough since mapping
out the areas isn't as easy as Frontier. Once you trigger certain levers and
battles, you can't redo them. Because of that problem, I'll be starting the
game over from scratch. Don't rush me, please... :x

Planned for next update:

-Finished Earth Shrine

-Finished bios on all islanders
-Fire Shrine info started
-Walkthrough Part 1 finished
-Walkthrough Part 2 started

V. 1.1: January 5-8, 2012

Well, that was the longest wait I've ever had to wait for a contribution to be
accepted/rejected. In the end, though, it was finally accepted! *streamers*

Alright, well in the half-month I've been waiting, I made and started some
side projects to add to this FAQ and threw them away. Well, one was thrown
away at least. I tried making a "Request" section, but it was too tedious to
actually handle. Next in line are Cooking/Forging/Crafting/Pharmacy section
and possibly even a Bestiary. Those are still just future plans, though. For
now, the actual walkthrough comes first.

In this update:

-12 more steps added for Walkthrough Part 1

-Bios for non-marriage candidates finished
-Monsters added for Earth, Flame, and Water Shrines
-"XXX Shrine"s renamed to "XXX Spirit Shrine"s for accuracy
-"4 Sacred Shrines" renamed to "4 Sacred Spirit Shrines"
-Added another "Liked" food for Bacchus and Quinn
[Thanks to oscarm for pointing these out]
-Fixed Aden, Odette, and James' "Liked" dishes
[Big thank you to Lirishae for spotting all of these]

Preparations for the Dungeon section of the Walkthrough are proceeding

smoothly. The next update should have the Earth Spirit Shrine finished, unless
I receive more PMs about some mistakes I've made.

V. 1.2: March 16-18, 2012

Sorry for the long hiatus. I have no excuse whatsoever, so I'm sorry to anyone
that needed this thing to be updated. Since the bounty deadline is approaching
soon, I'll have to kick it into high gear. Hopefully the upcoming wave of
massive updates every few days or so can make it up.

In this update:

-Fixed the amount of steps I had (accidentally skipped over 8)

[Thanks for pointing this out, Billgus]
-Added Wind Shrine monsters and Boss names
[Love ya, game_gurl]
-Added HitTheGroundWal's "Accesories and Marriage Candidates" Mini-Guide
[Thanks for being upfront and asking. I respect that.]
-PS3 Controls added (Because I'd like to make this guide more applicable to
both systems... even if I prefer the Wii version)
[Thanks for tossing these to me, LysanderD]
-2 more steps to the Walkthrough added

Next update, expect the Earth Shrine to be finished. Gonna go all out for this
one.

V. 1.3: March 18-20, 2012

Lightning round number two. I'm a bit further ahead than I thought I'd be, but
it looks like I'll be slowing down a bit.

In this update:

-Earth Spirit Shrine Ruins walkthrough complete

-Walkthrough Part 1 is now complete
-Walkthrough Part 2 is now mostly complete
-Fire Spirit Shrine Ruins walkthrough is mostly complete

V. 1.4: September 28-30, 2012

Well, I finally got my game back from my sis, so I can work on this again.
Kinda hard since I don't like rushing through Rune Factory games. I like
taking my time... Oh well.

In this update:
-Fire spirit Shrine Ruins walkthrough is completed
-Walkthrough Part 2 is complete
-Walkthrough Part 3 is well underway
-New section: Tips and Tricks
-4 notes added to Tips and Tricks

V. 1.5: October 1-4, 2012

So... I finally found out that I messed up badly. I forgot to complete the
Jungle Island part, so I couldn't advance the story. I spent a full season
just raising FP to see if that's what I was missing. At least I finally
figured it out.

In this update:
-Water Spirit Shrine Ruins walkthrough is completed
-Wind Spirit Shrine Ruins walkthrough is mostly done
-Walkthrough Part 3 is completed
-Walkthrough Part 4 is completed
-Walkthrough Part 5 is starting up
-4 notes added to Tips and Tricks
-Placed "Tips and Tricks" in the correct section

Since the story is almost done, I've been thinking of adding an extra section
or two before finally wrapping this FAQ up. So far the biggest contender is
a Bestiary that'll also show info about what monsters can do what, as well as
where to find them. Other thoughts include a shopping section that'll show the
items sold at the different stores, a festival guide that'll detail and
provide info about the different kinds of festivals, and Schedule section that
would have info on the villager's habits. Unfortunately, they're all so random
that a Schedule would likely never happen. The others are still up for grabs,
though.

V. 1.6 October 13-17, 2012

This is it, folks! The story walkthrough has finally been completed. With the
skeleton and meat of this FAQ out of the way, I can start working on making it
prettier. In upcoming updates, I'll add some sections that I talked about
before.

In this update:
-Wind Spirit Shrine Ruins walkthrough is complete
-Walkthough Part 5 is complete
-Rage Mode changes for Oblitergator added (Forgot to add this in the first time)
-Names of some gifts changed since they were wrong
-17 typos corrected
-Removed some unnecessary comments in the walkthrough

If you'd like to add something to the FAQ yourself, don't be afraid to get in
touch with me. I'd love to keep adding more content to this to help those
in a pinch. The next section or two (or three) should be revealed around
November.

+THE 10 MAIDENS+
++++++++++++++++

Always taking the spotlight in a Rune Factory game is the marriage/affection

system. Each title has several eligible people to marry and Tides of Destiny
doesn't stray from that. Here are the 10 lovely women for you to pick from.

+++++++
+SONJA+
+++++++

"The Happy Harbinger of Hope"

Sonja is the default female in Tides of Destiny, although you can't really
interact too much with her until the game is beaten. She's a bit airheaded,
but she's very understanding and cares deeply for the male main character.

Birthday: Spring 13
Gift She Loves: Fruit Tart
Gifts She Likes: Candies
Sweets
Similar sugary items
Gift She Hates: Wakame Seaweed

++++++
+LILY+
++++++

"The Busty Bard"

Lily is apparently one of the older marriage candidates for the game and it...
kinda shows. ...Anywho. She's not really a bard, but a musician with a lute.
She's extremely clumsy and terrible in the kitchen. However, she always wears
a smile on her face and gives everything her all.

Birthday: Spring 26
Gift She Loves: Fruit Parfait
Gifts She Likes: Apple
Orange
Cherry
Gift She Hates: Baked Apple

++++++++
+ODETTE+
++++++++

"The Caring Cook"

Odette is the middle of three sisters and the one that helps you settle into
Fenith Island. If we go by the trend of previous default Rune Factory females,
she really should be the one that the male character goes for if it weren't
for Sonja's existence. Anyways, she's a renown cook on the island and is
always ready to help those she cares about, even if it means getting hurt
herself...

Birthday: Summer 8
Gift She Loves: Ratatouille
Gifts She Likes: Salad
Pickles
Risotto
Fried Veggies
Boiled Pumpkin
Boiled Spinach
Sauteed Spinach
Gift She Hates: Fish Fossil

++++++++
+VIOLET+
++++++++

"The Nervous Nurse"

Violet is the younger of three sisters and studies as the island's only nurse.
From the first time you meet her, it's obvious that she has an obvious crush
on the male main character. It's because of that reason I'm a bit hesitant to
ask her about an examination...

Birthday: Winter 3
Gift She Loves: Emery Flower
Gifts She Likes: Pickles
Medicinal Herb
Flowers
Colored Grass
Gift She Hates: Insect Skin

+++++++++
+ELECTRA+
+++++++++

"The Wasteless Worker"

I... I didn't have much to work with her. I'm sorry. For those familiar with
the Rune Factory series, Electra is a De Sainte-Coquille. The twist, however,
is the she's poor and does her own housework. Don't feel so bad, though, since
she rather enjoys doing labor. She even has a part time job at most of the
shops on Fenith Island! Now that's what I call devotion.

Birthday: Spring 6
Gift She Loves: Teardrop
Gifts She Likes: Material for accessories (Yarn, Cheap Cloth, etc.)
Gift She Hates: Jewels (Ruby, Sapphire, etc.)

+++++++++
+MAERWEN+
+++++++++

"The Tsundere Servant"

Maerwen is the last maid for the Fenith Island De Sainte-Coquilles. She's
cruel, mean, and entirely uninterested in the male main character. ...Or is
she? Like the flowers she loves so much, tend to her over time and she will
eventually bloom for you.

Birthday: Winter 1
Gift She Loves: Pom-Pom Flower
Gifts She Likes: Cheap Cloth
Flowers
Gift She Hates: Spinach

+++++++
+ELENA+
+++++++

"The Golem Genius"

Elena is a young self-proclaimed genius that runs the local blacksmith

automatically using a golem. She loves golems. I cannot stress that part
enough. From planning, designing and building, Elena will spend most of her
time doing SOMETHING that pertains to golems. She's the only one that sleeps
during the day, since she's apparently up all night building them.

Birthday: Fall 8
Gift She Loves: Small Crystal
Gifts She Likes: Ore (Scrap Iron, Bronze, etc.)
Gift She Hates: Milk

++++++++
+SIERRA+
++++++++

"The Hyper Helper"

Just like Electra, I... didn't really have much to work with here. Moving on,
Sierra is the sister of the local general store owner. She's supposed to help
him with the workload, but she tends to slack off and play all day. Hey,
nothing wrong with that, right? It's not like she slacks off every day, right?
...R-Right?

Birthday: Spring 3
Gift She Loves: Sun Pendant
Gifts She Likes: Accessories
Gift She Hates: Salad

+++++++++
+PANDORA+
+++++++++

"The Sexy Sorceress"

Pandora is your leader. You are but her minion. She's an evil arch-sorceress
that attempted to conquer the world hundreds of years ago, but was finally
subdued by a legion of the world's armies. By that I mean she accidentally
turned herself to stone before she could even attempt to conquer the world
when her own petrification spell rebounded onto her. ...Whoops? She's kinda
crazy, but... kinda hot too.

Birthday: Winter 24
Gift She Loves: Rune Crystal
Gifts She Likes: Jewels (Ruby, Sapphire, etc.)
Gift She Hates: Rosary

++++++++
+MIKOTO+
++++++++

"The Bridget of Blades"

I love Guilty Gear references. Mikoto is the island's local guardian. She
practices her katana in the morning and patrols during the day. I can't
really say much else without spoiling too much, but you get the gist. Once
again, just like Mei from RF1 and Uzuki from Frontier, she's from a foreign
land that's the game's equivalent of Japan.

Birthday: Spring 1
Gift She Loves: Tempura Bowl
Gifts She Likes: Fried fishes (Fried Mackerel, Fried Shrimp, etc.)
Gift She Hates: Knife Piece

+++++++++++++++++
+The 4 BACHELORS+
+++++++++++++++++

Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny introduces something new to the Rune Factory
series; the ability to play as a female. Although the female main character
has less than half the choices the male main character has, there is still
some variety in store here.

++++++
+ADEN+
++++++

"The Bladed Badass"

Aden is the game's male main character. By the point you make him an NPC, you
should know him pretty well. Of course, his personality is usually reflective
of how you act to others, but he has a base for it all.

Birthday: Fall 14
Gift He Loves: Sushi
Gifts He Likes: Chestnut Rice
Bamboo Rice
Mushroom Rice
Gift He Hates: Cold Medicine

+++++
+JOE+
+++++

"The Awesome Adventurer"

I don't even know why they bothered giving this guy a jacket if they wanted
the surfer look. Joe is the grandson of Bacchus and plans to surpass him in
every way. Their rivalry tends to bring some nasty words out, but they're
family through and through.

Birthday: Winter 13
Gift He Loves: Protein
Gifts He Likes: Recovery Potions
Courage Badge
Gift He Hates: Cucumber

+++++++
+JAMES+
+++++++

"The Mature Merchant"

I didn't have much to work with here, but it does work pretty well. James is,
perhaps, my personal favorite male marriage candidate aside from Aden. He's
mature, cares a lot for his younger sister Elena, and even has a girlfriend.
...Well. Used to, anyways. His downside? A chocolate pudding sweet tooth, but
don't we all have one?

Birthday: Fall 6
Gift He Loves: Chocolate Pudding
Gifts He Likes: Puddings
Cakes
Gift He Hates: Mushroom

++++++++++
+BISMARCK+
++++++++++

"The Introvertive Extrovert"

I tried... Anyways, Bismarck is the owner of Gemini General Store. He's very
outgoing when it comes to his line of work, but... k-kinda... very sh-shy
elsewhere... At least until Aden shows him some lessons in manliness.
Personally, I hate him, but nothing I can do.

Birthday: Spring 3
Gift He Loves: Seafood Pizza
Gifts He Likes: Pizza
Popcorn
Cornflakes
French Fries
Gift He Hates: Insect Jaw

++++++++++++++++++++++++
+OTHER FENITH ISLANDERS+
++++++++++++++++++++++++

Of course, the island is completely dominated by people you can marry. If that
was the case, then we'd have a harder time choosing who to pick. There are
numerous other Fenith Islanders that aren't marriage candidates, but are still
just as colorful.

+++++++++
+BEATRIX+
+++++++++

Beatrix is the mother of Electra and mayor of Fenith Island. She's a Sainte
de Coquille woman, which is very new to the series since all of the adult
Sainte de Coquilles have all been very large and boisterous men. She's quite
different, however, since she has more of an adventure sense than her male
counterparts. The love of food, however, is still there.

Birthday: Winter 20
Gift She Loves: Magic Crystal
Gifts She Likes: Food
Gift She Hates: Glue

+++++++++
+BACCHUS+
+++++++++

Bacchus is your local sea salt. He might be old, but LOOK AT THOSE MUSCLES!
FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER RUNE FACTORY GOD THERE IS, HE IS RIPPED! You see
that, kids? That's experience and taking the slanted slope instead of the
elevator next to the boat he lives in.

Birthday: Summer 3
Gift He Loves: Friend Fall Flounder
Gifts He Likes: Dried Sardine
Gift He Hates: Honey Toast

+++++++
+QUINN+
+++++++

Quinn is a young orphan, but that doesn't bring her down. Together with her
brother, she loves to play around the island. However, she does some things
that might make his brother nervous and land her in trouble. Oh well. Girls
will be girls.

Birthday: Winter 6
Gift She Loves: Ultimate Curry
Gifts She Likes: Noodle dishes
Curry dishes
Gift She Hates: Carrots

++++++++
+KELSEY+
++++++++

Kelsey is Quinn's younger brother. He's very shy around others and usually
doesn't waste any words. He does eventually open up to you like you're his
own brother, so it's a cutesy little kid moment.

Birthday: Fall 24
Gift He Loves: Magic Ring
Gifts He Likes: Toys
Gift He Hates: Green Pepper

++++++++
+GERARD+
++++++++

Oh my... It's like Erik from Frontier turned himself into a priest. Gerard is
the island's Father and leader of island security. He's very... outgoing...
but his heart is always in the right place. He loves the island just as much
as anybody and will give is all to protect it. Just, uhh... Just don't ask
about his past. I can't guarantee what'll happen...

Birthday: Fall 3
Gift She Loves: Mixed Ole
Gifts She Likes: Juices (doesn't include Grass Juice)
Gift She Hates: Grass Juice

+++++++++
+JOCELYN+
+++++++++

Jocelyn isn't exactly an islander, but I treat her as one nonetheless. She's
not a marriage candidate (unfortunately) since she's married herself. However,
she is an archaeologist and is willing to share her knowledge for the right
price. She's not greedy at all, and is very kind and courteous. ...WHY DID
THEY HAVE TO TAUNT US WITH A NON-MARRIAGEABLE BEAUTY LIKE HER?!

Birthday: Winter 19
Gift She Loves: Golden Skull
Gifts She Likes: Paintings
Pottery
Lamps
Chairs
Gift She Hates: Tomato

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+RUNE FACTORY FRONTIER CAMEO CHARACTERS+
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There are a few Rune Factory Frontier cameos in this game. For those that
didn't get the memo, Rune Factory Frontier is the previous console game for
the series. Talking to any of them instantly replaces the music of Tides of
Destiny with certain pieces from Frontier. Here's a small list:

[Tides of Destiny Song] -> [Frontier Song]

Fenith Island -> Business District
Fenith Island Evening -> Clock Tower
Home -> Home
Spring Island -> Spring
Summer Island -> Summer
Fall Island -> Fall
winter Island -> Winter
Random islands -> Whale Island

++++++++
+ANETTE+
++++++++

"The Mail Maiden"

Anette's baaack! She delivers the mail to the island every season on the 4th.
I'm just kinda curious why she just sorta stands in port all day if that's her
job in this game. Oh well, at least she's here.

Birthday: Winter 4
Gift She Loves: Pumpkin Tart
Gifts She Likes: Strawberry
Pineapple
Milk
Gift She Hates: Eggplant

+++++++
+CANDY+
+++++++

"The Sweet Sweetie"

Sweet sweet little Candy is back and even cuter than ever. She only starts
appearing once the game is over, so don't hold your breath. She visits every
week on a Tuesday, making her the most common cameo. It takes two visits for
you to actually get her name and add her to your "Villagers" list, but the
wait is well worth it for darling Candy. (Now if only she can just grow up
a bit faster...) ...Ahem.

Birthday: Spring 27
Gift She Loves: Apple Pie
Gifts She Likes: Juices
Gift She Hates: Insect Skin

+++++++++
+TABATHA+
+++++++++

"The Elegant Elf"

Most likely the final cameo you'll encounter out of the three of them, the
beautiful maid and close friend of Bianca de Sainte-Coquille joins the brawl!
Sporting a new look that's an improvement on her previous two versions, this
is yet another cameo well worth the wait. She visits the Sainte-Coquille
mansion randomly in the afternoons once Electra, Maerwen, and Beatrix reach
6FP.

Birthday: Fall 12
Gift She Loves: Oatmeal
Gifts She Likes: Porridge
Apple
Flour
Four-Leaf Clover
Gift She Hates: Sashimis

++++++++++++++++++++++
+THE OCEAN OF DESTINY+
++++++++++++++++++++++

I will not lie. The Ocean of Destiny that you are about to swim in has some
rough waves. (Sorry about all the water puns) This is where the main part of
this FAQ/Walkthrough comes in. I'll keep everything down to a minimal
step-by-step list, so pay attention. Everything will most likely be more
time-consuming and harder than I'm making it look like, so don't fret.

===============
=DOWN TO EARTH=
===============

!!NOTE: NONE OF THIS HAS TO BE DONE QUICKLY. TAKE YOUR TIME.!!

Step 1: Defeat the 3 Orcs (You cannot lose, since any and all damage taken is
reduced to a measly 0)
Step 2: Follow Odette throughout the whole Fenith Island tutorial until you
finally gain control of your character in your house
Step 3: Greet all the characters you can today. Here's a list of who you meet
and where:

Lily - Three Sisters Inn

Bismarck - Gemini General Store
Sierra - Gemini General Store
Electra - Villa de Sainte-Coquille
Maerwen - Villa de Sainte-Coquille
Beatrix - Garden behind Villa de Sainte-Coquille
James - Daedalus Blacksmith
Mikoto - Near the path to the Dragon Shrine
Gerard - Main church area
Quinn - Main church area
Kelsey - Main church area
Violet - Medical wing of church
Bacchus - Near Bacchus' Ship (That ship in the port)
Joe - Near Bacchus' Ship (That ship in the port)

While you can hold off on greeting all of the characters in one day,
I recommend doing so.
Step 4: Sleep or start Day 2
Step 5: Get on the golem (Not a choice. Don't even try escaping.)
Step 6: Get in the barn for a quick scene. Afterwards, walk back out
Step 7: Choose a weapon (Any weapon will do fine. However, I heavily recommend
either the Dual Blades or the Staff since they're the
most useful weapons overall in the game)
Step 8: Reach the top of Verde Island

=Mini Verde Island Guide=

Step 1: Run to the far left and double jump onto the ledge with a small branch
surrounded by multi-colored spirits
Step 2: Run along that edge and hug the right
Step 3: When you reach a fork with the left path sloping down and the right
path moving away from it, stick to the right and head towards the
large white tree stump (once again surrounded by spirits)
Step 4: Rush to the tree with a treasure chest at it's feet
Step 5: Defeat all of the goblin pirates (Note that some random enemies will
be tossed into the fray as well due
to a nearby portal, but try to
ignore them)
Step 6: Continue upwards along the path towards the glowing monument
Step 7: Defeat the three goblins
=End of Mini Verde Island Guide=

Step 9: Start request by Maerwen about an island with animals

Step 10: Walk West with your Golem and dig up Spring Island
Step 11: Accept request from Electra about two boulders causing trouble north
Step 12: Walk straight North from Fenith Island on your golem and pick up +
toss the two boulders
Step 13: Accept request from Sierra regarding a "ghost"
Step 14: Head Southwest of Fenith Island to a small island and dig it up
Step 15: Greet Jocelyn on a Thursday or Holiday, as she is vital to getting
more storyline island quests
Step 16: Talk to Lily until she mentions someone that has a problem similar to
the problem Aden and Sonja has
Step 17: Accept Lily's request on the board about a new island
Step 18: Get Ymir over to the designated spot on the ocean and pull out a new
permanent island
Step 19: Get close to the building in the center to trigger a small scene
Step 20: Destroy all of the monster gates on the island
Step 21: Get inside the now-accessible building
Step 22: Defeat all of the monsters in side (but watch out for the swirling

=FINAL BOSS 1: LEGENDARY GOLEM=

Despite your attempts to weaken it, the Legendary Golem still hits like a
truck. Block as soon as you gain control just in case. At level 47, it was
able to kill me with just one move (although it hits three times).

Land a combo on it ASAP. Once it's down, wait a bit until it comes up. Land
the first hit of your combo before it's able to block. Keep repeating this
until the Legendary Golem is down. Sure, it's a cheap tactic, but it works.
Besides, it hits like a TRUCK. I can't emphasize that enough.

Once you bring it down to no HP, it'll be dazed. Walk up to it to receive a

prompt to finish the job. Once you trigger, you'll receive a small scene
that'll be followed by the next boss battle.

=FINAL BOSS 2: MASKED MAN=

*Phase 1*

Phase 1 is relatively easy on you. Most of the Masked Man's attacks will be
held back for now. All you have to do to initiate the next phase is to
cut around a fourth of the HP bar off.

*Phase 2*

Hoo boy. Finally unveiled. From here on out, the battle will really start
kicking up.

The first thing you need to know is to not get too close to the Masked Man
when he raises an arm to the sky. If he does so, he'll call forth around 5
dark balls of energy. These hit hard and multiple times. If you get hit by the
first one, you'll be stunned enough for all the other ones to smash into you
as well. Pray that this isn't used consecutively.

There are either two ways to finish this phase. You can either go down in a
blaze of glory by fighting and eventually wearing out your HP, or you can
bring the Masked Man's HP to the brink.

*Phase 3*

This is it. High gear. Everyone is counting on you. Are you ready? Then here's
a complete skill list.

Dark Call: 5 dark balls of energy are called onto the battlefield. These can
act in a variety of ways. They can roam forward towards you, wander
around randomly, or head straight towards you. Like before, these
can combo into each other. What makes things worse is that this can
stun you long enough for other attacks. I was brought from 50% of
my health down to around 5-10% because I got careless and he
chain-stunned me. Watch your back.

Meteor Call: A lone meteor is called towards your position. There's a physical
queue since he seems to float up a bit and then point at the
ground. Alone, this deals less damage than Dark Call. However,
it still stuns and can be used in a combo with it. Watch. Your.
Back.

Beam Call: A small group of water beams are called around the arena and shoot
at you. Just try to stay mobile when this happens.

Fire Ultimatum V1: The Masked Man floats in the air and calls upon a massive
pillar of flames. This pillar then shoots three fireballs
at you. The fireballs can be avoided by moving erratically
and jumping, but it's hard to get the hang of.

Fire Ultimatum V2: The Masked Man floats in the air and calls down a swarm of
meteors to devastate the battleground. Try to avoid them as
best as you can.

Water Ultimatum: The Masked Man places several balls of water on the
battlefield. Afterwards, thin beams start shooting from one
ball to another. Try to stick close to one beam without
touching it. The beams tend to leave a large gap in between
them for your safety.

Wind Ultimatum: EXTREMELY hard to avoid. Several blades of wind spin around
the middle of the stage while a massive tornado pulls you into
the center. Expect to take around 4-6 hits of this if you
couldn't avoid it from the get-go. Just for reference, I
vaguely remember barely escaping most of the hits from the
tornado when I was close to the edge of the stage.

Sakura Blade Rush: Three blades of energy are slashed towards you before the
Masked Man closes the gap and slashes at you.

Night Spear: This attack is likely only to be used on you from afar. The
Masked Man aims his sword at your general location and sends out
four sharp, dark spears.

Light Spike: An attack akin to that of Oblitergator's Leg Spike, hence the
similar names. Masked Man slams his sword down to the ground and
causes three spikes to erupt out of the ground and towards you.

Void Reaper: The Masked Man slashes his sword in front of him and causes a
dark void to appear near him. Stay away from this at all costs.

Quick Strike: This is the most simple attack I can give a name to. Basically,
the Masked Man rushes towards you, gives you one upper-slash,
and runs back to his starting position. It's really only one
hit, though... so...

Illusion Shift: The Masked Man spawns 4 illusions of him that deal the same
amount of damage as him. These 5 combined have the power to
bring your HP down to red in a flash if they combo. There
appears to be a timer for them, but you can also defeat them.

Heavenly Rain: A MASSIVE light attack that engulfs the entire battlefield and
kills you. Instantly. You can't run from it. All you can do is
take it in with the love of your friends protecting and
surrounding you.

You will die this round. I'm not kidding. The Masked Man has a one-hit kill
attack that's unavoidable. Here's the good news, though; you now have more
than one life. The reason I recommended that you raise the relationship level
of all the marriage candidates was for the very reason. Each candidate gives
you an extra life in the battle. At the minimum, you'll have two (Sonja and
the Goblin Captain). At max, you'll have 15 (Base 2 + 13 extra).

The main difference between this fight and the previous phases is the
relentlessness of the combos. If you screw up and let him set you up, you'll
be saying goodbye to a chunk of your health. Handle it the same as before
as much as you can. Depending on the amount of lives you have, this battle can
either be hell or cake. This fits perfectly with Rune Factory's recurring
theme of your ultimate strength being that of the ties you have forged in your
journey. Don't let them down.

For those of you that didn't get everyone up, though, here's the dialogue for
all of the characters during the inspirational scene.

[Odette]
"It's not like you to give up. I know you'll push forward no matter what life
throws at you. You're too thick-headed to just lie down and surrender!"

[Joe]
"Don't tell me you're throwing in the towel now! Come on, I know you've got a
lot of fight left in ya! Don't let me down, buddy.

[Electra]
"All we can do for you is cheer you on... But if we can give you some of our
strength... Please..."

[Mikoto]
"It is my duty to protect the peace of this island. I am truly sorry to have
laid this burden on you. I shall guard your back, so focus on the enemy
before you!"

[Lily]
"Please don't give up. Even if there's only a sliver of hope, fight on.
Please... The fate of all of us is in your hands."

[Bismarck]
"I... I wish I could help. But I'm not good in a fight. But let me say this,
you are not fighting alone. Our hearts are with you."

[Maerwen]
"Well, everyone dies someday. But I don't want the island to disappear, so you
better not die today. Well... Good luck. And don't lose!"

[Sierra]
"When this all ends, we still have to hang out! So I expect you to win and
come back in one piece. If you don't, you'll have to answer to me!"

[James]
"I love this island and all of its people. I know you feel the same way.
That's why I'll continue to believe. I know that you'll stand again and be
victorious!"

[Elena]
"All things are destined to break down someday. Even golems... But your time
hasn't come yet. You can do it!"

[Violet]
"Um... Well... Th-There's soemthing I haven't told you yet... So please...
Don't die..."

[Pandora]
"I've no patience for this languid attitude! As my top underling, I expect
more of you! This miserable Legendary Golem is not significant enough that I
need to soil my hands. It's a simple task! Defeat the Legendary Golem.
You have my permission!"

[Goblin Captain]
"Aye, yer the toughest landlubber I've ever met! This be no time fer laying
down arms! Stand and fight, me heary! GO!!"

[Sonja]
"You've given so much to me, (character name). When I tore my stuffed animal,
you gave me a toy sword. When I dropped my candy, you shared yours. You even
let me borrow your body. Words can't express my gratitude. Now it's my turn
to give you something. Take the strength of my spirit, my soul!"

Step 19: Enjoy the ending credits. You deserve 'em!

Step 20: The next day, accept the golden requests from Odette, Lily, and
Violet. Though the dialogue is different, they're all similar in one
way; they see you as family and want to give you something special to
commemorate that fact
Step 21: Talk to Elena
Step 22: Go around Fenith Island and talk to everyone (except Quinn and
Kelsey) to collect the 15 golem fragments
Step 23: Report back to Elena
Step 24: End the day when you feel like it, although there's not much to do
without your golem
Step 25: Wake up the next day and head outside after the wake-up scene with
Elena
Step 26: Talk to Pandora
Step 27: Hand the Ancient Tome over to Lily (This scene just makes the
nostalgia pour out of me)
Step 28: Talk to Bacchus
Step 29: Bounce on over to Joe
Step 30: End the day whenever
Step 31: Head back to Joe to pick up the Friendship Compass
Step 32: Report to Lily
Step 33: If you haven't done so yet, raise the relationship level of all
marriage candidates to 6
Step 34: Head to the Dragon Shrine and check the Friendship Compass
(Use the altar) to make sure all the points are lit

[You're about to choose who you want to continue playing as (Aden or Sonja),
so I recommend saving on a different slot so you can get the full experience]

Step 35: Go back to Lily

Step 36: Choose who you want to continue playing as
Step 37: Enjoy the rest of the scene
Step 38: Report to the Dragon Shrine
Step 39: Finish the ritual
Step 40: Enjoy the rest of the dialogue

That's it! You're pretty much done with Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny at this
point. What's that? You don't feel like you're done? Of course not!
Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny has much more in store for you that I simply
can't hold your hand through. Make food! Befriend animals! Flirt with your
marriage candidates! Get married! It's all up to you. The plot ends here...
but that doesn't mean your story has finished just yet. What are you waiting
for? Time to make some waves!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+THE 4 SACRED SPIRIT SHRINES+
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Off the coast of Fenith Island, far in each of the four cardinal directions,
lie four sacred shrines. Each shrine is a tribute to one of the four
legendary dragons; Terrable (Earth), Fiersome (Fire), Aquaticus (Water), and
Ventuswill (Wind). These are the four main dungeons of this game, and this
section is dedicated for those that need help getting through them.

!!!IMPORTANT NOTE!!! (1)

For the sake of not over complicating things, I'll try to avoid describing
two specific things: Jailbar Walls and Monster Arenas

Jailbar Walls are temporary walls that are connected by bars and columns.
They can be broken down and passed through easily. The reason I'll try to
avoid them is to save time. I will, however, use them if a room has a lot of
them.

Monster Arenas are certain rooms/areas where all escape routes are sealed off
by a blue energy wall. In order to leave them, you must destroy all of the
portals. Don't worry too much about the monsters. If you're in danger of
fainting, though, you can still teleport back to the entrance. The only bad
thing about this is that your portal-destruction progress in the arena will be
reset next time you trigger it. Since these are one-time only events that can
be easily blasted through, I'll avoid them.

!!!IMPORTANT NOTE!!! (2)

When you're going up the penultimate stairs and Aden warns you about the
strong force he feels and asks if you're ready, just keep going on ahead
anyways. The boss fight doesn't trigger until you're in the middle of the
floor. Besides, it makes things easier since just stepping on that floor will
trigger the teleport pad in the Shrine's first room.

*****************
**BOSS: MOLEMAN**
*****************

=ATTACKS=

Mole Festival: One little mole... thing... is tossed onto the battlefield.
It'll chase you down for a few seconds and try to explode in
your face.

Molenado: Moleman will shout "COME HEAH" and spin his way towards you. This is
both a blessing and a curse since it is VERY powerful if you get
caught. However, once the attack is done, you get a golden chance to
dish out some damage.

Molepedo: A rarely used attack. Moleman just sorta torpedoes into your
direction. I've only seen it used from afar.

Tunnel Dive: Moleman dives into the dirt and chases after you. Keep
running away. Better yet, lead him into one of the stone slabs
you see on the battlefield. He'll ram into it and come out dazed.

Claw Slash: A rarely used attack. A few slashes from Moleman's claws are sent
flying out. It's quick, brief, and doesn't give you a chance to
counter. Try to avoid it if you can.

Moleman is more of a nuisance than a boss. He has a bunch of different attacks

designed to close the gap between you two. However, one of them gives you a
guaranteed chance to counter if you evade, while the other gives you another
chance if you lead him into stone. Just keep your distance and attack him
when he's dazed.

+Rage Mode Changes+

Mole Festival will have three tiny moles out

Molenado will be used three times in rapid succession, although the
opportunity to dish out damage at the end of the final one is still present
Tunnel Dive will last slightly longer and have Moleman use Molepedo randomly
Tunnel Dive will end with a big slam on the ground, but it's easily evaded

Step 10: Head up the stairs to 3F

-3F-
Step 1: Head all the way north until you're just about to enter the last
chamber (the path to your right should be cut off here)
Step 2: Take the path to the left until it splits into two
Step 3: Head deep into the chamber to your right to find a lever hiding
behind a portal. Pull it.
Step 4: Backtrack until you're back on the first path you took and head into
the chamber that you stopped at before
Step 5: Pull the lever here and run south
Step 6: When you spot the bridge to your left (headed east on your map), cross
it
Step 7: Head all the way south to another chamber with a lever. You know the
drill.
Step 8: Step out of this chamber and follow the small path east towards
another split. Go into the southern chamber.
Step 9: Search and trigger this new lever to finish one of the two bridges
Step 10: Backtrack west down this path and work your way north until you see
the bridge to your right
Step 11: Cross the bridge until it leads you to yet another split path
Step 12: Head into the southern chamber and pull that final lever to complete
the final bridge
Step 13: Head all the way back to the starting point and spot the bridge (it's
just after the first chamber you start the floor in)
Step 14: Cross over the bridge
Step 15: Head north/right towards the stairs
Step 16: Head up the stairs to 4F

-4F-

Step 1: Head north and follow the path all the way to the left
Step 2: Head north again and trigger the lever
Step 3: Backtrack down the path a little and cross over into the new territory
Step 4: Head all the way north and trigger the two levers you see behind a
jailbar fence
Step 5: Head to the path on the left and cross the bridge
Step 6: Follow the path north briefly and dive to the right (the lever you see
north of you is not vital to the main bridge, but it does open a path
to a Silver Ring)
Step 7: Follow the path all the way to a set of stairs with a lever at the top
Step 8: Crank dat lever
Step 9: Backtrack all the way back to those two levers you pulled at the same
time
Step 10: Go right a little and cross the bridge the other lever triggered
Step 11: Walk up the stairs and pull the next lever
Step 12: Go back down to the main path with the two levers again
Step 13: Follow the path all the way to the right and pull the lever at the
end
Step 14: Walk back a bit and then dive south into a new route
Step 15: Follow this new route all the way to TWO MORE LEVERS
Step 16: Trigger both of these levers and swing back around the route
Step 17: Head directly north into a new path with a lever just ahead of you
Step 18: Flip this new switch to lower that bridge you passed by twice already
Step 19: Head directly back a little and west into another lever and pull it
Step 20: Head back down and west again into the final lever. Pull this.
Step 21: Backtrack and cross the long bridge you lowered while heading towards
the stairs all the way to the north
Step 22: Head up the stairs to 5F

*******************
**BOSS: CRABOTRON**
*******************

=ATTACKS=

Snip Snip: Crabotron simple slashes its claws at you. Quick and deadly if
you're low-leveled (16 or less)

Bubble Blast: Crabotron pauses for a brief moment before spewing out a mass of
bubbles in your direction. You can take advantage of this attack
since it will more than likely miss. It leaves Crabotron open to
your attacks, if only for a moment.

Bomb Jump: Crabotron explodes into the air and smashes back down. Easily
dodged.

Escapeless Bullets: While a battle cry of "You cannot escape", Crabotron

launches a few bullets your way. This attack was the most
annoying for me, as it is tough to dodge at close range
and details rapid, heavy damage. Watch. Out.

Rocket Launchers: Two rockets blast into the sky and swirl down towards you.
Tough to dodge, but it's able to be done. Simply wait a bit
before double-jumping. You should jump over the rockets. At
this point, try to avoid the recoil from the rockets
exploding in either the ground or air. Just practice a bit
and stay safe.

Crab Mines: Out of some holes in its legs, Crabotron sprays some land mines
out of one side of it. Easily dodged once they're on the ground,
but you're in for a world of pain if they're aerial while you're
on the side they're coming out of.

Crab Mine V2: Same type of attack, except the mines are placed in front of it.
Pretty much just a chance for you to catch your breath.

Bullet Spray: Crabotron spreads its claws to the side and launches two streams
of bullets while closing in the gap between the streams. Not too
hard to dodge. Simply time your double jump correctly. If you
don't... Ouch.

Delta Cannon: In the blink of an eye, a large pulse of air is hurled towards
your location. It deals heavy damage, but you'll most likely
dodge it if you're running. The only reason I was ever hit by
it is because I was healing.

Crabotron was the most annoying thing in the game to me. Still is. Crabotron
keeps itself away from you with projectiles-a-plenty while still boasting a
decent melee game. In addition, all of these attacks hurt and can typically
be dodged only with near-perfect timing, prediction, and luck. However, there
is an easy weak point.

Crabotron LOVES your animal partners. At level 14, I beat it with three of the
Fire Trolls tanking damage for me. Sure, it still locks on to you every now
and then, but once it's focused on your animal partners, then you pretty much
have free reign over its backside. Dish out damage as hard as you can. Watch
out a bit, though, since the Snip Snip attack has a pretty annoying reach at
the sides of it.

+RAGE MODE CHANGES+

Snip Snip is faster and done twice

Bubble Blast lasts almost twice as long
Rocket Launchers is done three times in a row, making dodging more of a chore
Crab Mines come out on both sides
Bullet Spray is faster and more powerful
Delta Cannon now has virtually no signal ahead of time
A combination attack of Bullet Spray, Delta Cannon, and Rocket Launchers is
now used

**********************
**BOSS: OBLITERGATOR**
**********************

=Attacks=

Force Punch: A simple projectile punch. Just keep moving.

Leg Spike: Three spikes of light rocket out of the ground and head towards you
Like Force Punch, you can easily dodge it by continually moving

Ground Punch: An area attack near Obliteragator. Likely one of the most
dangerous attacks in his arsenal since it doesn't push you back,
but draws you in. It also has a high chance to stun you and has
a large area of effect. One hit from this and you'll likely be
facing a combo of attacks

Leap Strike: Oblitergator jumps in the air, floats a bit, and then crashes
down towards you with a kick. Keep moving and this attack should
always miss you.

Gatoroar: A cone-shaped attack from the mouth. Since you should NEVER be close
to Oblitergator when he attacks, you should never be hit by this.

The Combo: A mixture of several kicks and punches, followed by a Force Punch,
Leg Spike, and something that looks like a Dempsey roll. Somewhat
easy to counter if you run around to his back and pound on him.

Despite his looks, Oblitergator is the easiest boss in the game. After most of
his attacks, he takes several seconds to simply work out and charge up energy
again. Hammer into him during these periods to bring him down.

However, he finally starts to be a challenge once he starts to rage. Your

window of opportunity is completely destroyed. His workouts end in the blink
of an eye. His attacks are faster, smoother, and more powerful. At this
point, you're only left with a few options to attack him with. You can either
run in and attack briefly when he works out, unleash on him when he uses his
combo, or charge in and dodge every few seconds just in case. Your safest bet
is to use the second method. Then again, nothing is stopping you from doing
all three.

Keep at it until he finally bites the croc.

+RAGE MODE CHANGES+

His workouts are much quicker
Leg Knife splits into three paths
Gatoroar starts to be used
The Combo starts to be used

******************
**BOSS: ASMODEUS**
******************

=Attacks=

Delayed Claw: Asmodeus claws in your direction and seemingly misses. However,
the claw marks will remain in the air for a brief moment before
suddenly rocketing out towards your location. Easily avoided.

Blade Wing Rush: Asmodeus tucks his bladed wings in and spins towards you.
The damage is negligible, but it easily sets you up to
receive many more attacks that you could've easily avoided.

Bouncing Blade: A series of compressed air slices its way towards you. They
bounce, move slowly, and spread out. The best way to avoid
this is to run back and find choose a gap between the blades
to run through. Or you can just run back and wait until they
disappear.

Destructive Ground: Asmodeus jumps high into the air and launches a series of
blades at your location. If you're not mobile, you're
going to pay for your mistake. After all of the blades hit
the ground, a small explosion of light finishes the attack.
If you are NOT MOVING, you are goign to GET HURT. ...Why
would you be stationary in a boss battle, anyways?

Place Tornado: A simple attack that also punishes you for staying still. I
barely notice it myself. Simply put, a small tornado is spawned
where you are standing with a slight delay.

Tornado Cyclone: Asmodeus jumps into the air and looks like he's about to
perform Destructive Ground. However, the camera will pan
towards the center of the stage. Asmodeus will rush towards
it and initiate the attack. Wind will gather around him and
then explode outwards. I do NOT know how to avoid this attack
every single time. Sometimes it hits and sometimes it misses.
I can't quite figure out the rhyme or reason, but I have at
least figured out one thing. The closer you are to the edge
of the stage, the less likely you are to get hurt. Use that
to your advantage.

Asmodeus is the last of the Shrine bosses and has the strength to show it.
While the attacks don't quite hit as hard as you would think, he tends to use
them in tandem with each other. If you let him hit you once when you're
nearby, then you just might be comboed to hell and back.

Unlike most other bosses, Asmodeus does NOT have an obvious point of weakness
in the first stage. I repeat. Asmodeus. Has. No. Weakness. Your best and
safest bet is to have your pets distract him while you dish out the damage.

By the time you bring him down into the red, you'd start thinking that your
life would seen devolve into hell. ...Wrong. Asmodeus is unique. Instead of
getting stronger and healing his point of weakness like other bosses, he gets
MUCH easier to damage. Don't get me wrong. He still gets the speed boost, but
his combos are much shorter and tend to be just two attacks. Max. After he
attacks you, he'll just sit in the air for a bit and laugh. Is this an attack?
No. He just... sits there like a ducks and laughs. If you're using the dual
blades, you can actually rain down on him non-stop by having your ultimate
activate when he attacks. After the invincibility wears off, initiate you can
immediately start another combo since he'll laugh. The exception is when he
flies off and goes somewhere else.

Now, lets go over this again:

1) Keep mocing
2) Go all out during the first stage of the battle
3) Relax and laugh when the battle gets "tougher"

+RAGE MODE CHANGES+

!!DEVELOPS A PAINFULLY OBVIOUS WEAK SPOT!!

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
+HitTheGroundWal's Accesories and Marriage Candidates Mini-Guide+
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

*All credit/research for this section belongs to HitTheGroundWal*

Ta-da! I discovered the secret behind getting people to wear what you want
them to. James' hat giving you grief? Gave someone a silly hat because you
were mad, but now you want to get rid of it? Or did you run around giving
Sunglasses to everyone? Yes? Well, look no further!

-------The Basic Rules-------

1. Someone can wear up to four non-conflicting accessories at once. This

includes ones that they 'came with'.

2. Say you gave someone a hat, but then wanted to get rid of it, so you
gave them earrings. They're both Head items, so, problem solved, right? Wrong.
As long as the items don't directly conflict with one another, both can be
worn. A hat and earrings are non-conflicting items. As are a bracelet and
a ring. Same goes for a belt and a brooch.

3. Some items, you can't see that well, or at all. These accessories are
non-invasive. Rings are the perfect example. Gold Earrings also fit the
bill-varying depending on the hairstyle. Necklaces do too, if you give the
right one to the right person.

-------Above the Basics-------

1. "but you only mentioned 3 non-invasive items"

Indeed, a 4th is the hard part. Brooches, belts, hairpins- you simply need
to figure out the best one for that particular character. Either the one
that looks the least ridiculous, or the one thay camouflages with their
clothes the best.
2. If they already had a default item, and you replaced it, no worries.
Say you gave Lily a Straw hat, but later on you missed the flowers in her
hair. Don't worry, you can get the recipe for it.

-------My Tests: Simplified-------

1. In my tesing, I gave Elena A Straw Hat. That hat replaced her bow.
Next I gave her a sick Mask, and then Bismark's glasses. That made 3
non-conflicting items. A cape, and that makes 4. I handed her a brooch,
and the Straw hat was gone. A ring, and the Mask went away. Necklace,
and no more glasses.

As you can see, this demonstrates the 4-item rule, and that the first put
on is the first to go.

2. A while back, I accidentaly gave Bismark a scarf. I wanted to eliminate it.

After handing him 5 pairs of his glasses, the scarf was still in place. Just
as I expected. So I loaded that test away. Then I gave him Maerwen's glasses,
then sunglasses, then earrings, then a ring, and last, his own glasses.
Finally, a necklace, and the scarf was gone.

This showcasess the Conflicting Items rule.

---Getting Rid of Glasses---

I gave Bismark Gold Earrings (which he only wore one of), a Lucky Strike
(because it barely showed over his tie), and a ring. One more non-conflicting
item and the glasses would be gone. I chose the Cactus Hairpin personally.
But that, is up to you.

-----end-----

+++++++++++++++++
+TIPS AND TRICKS+
+++++++++++++++++

There's a bunch of information out there that I can't exactly plug into the
key points of this FAQ. If I tried, it'd be too forced and screw up the tempo
of the section. After some thought, I decided to add in this section to help
better your grasp of the game.

********************************
*Crafting and saving to victory*
********************************

The level at which you can craft/cook/forge, etc. is not actually the limit
you have on you. You can craft items that are up to 20 levels higher than your
current level. The only real drawback is that you have a smaller bar to stop
the marker at.

This is where the save feature comes in. Just save before crafting something
20 levels higher to make sure you don't lose anything. It's easy to learn and
before you know it, you'll just be adding 20 to your current crafting levels.

***************************
*Easy gold: Cooking method*
***************************

Low on gold? Here's an easy method to gain more. Buy milk from the inn and
then cook it into Hot Milk. Sell it back to them for an easy profit. Lather,
rinse, repeat, until you coat Ymir in platinum.

*****************************
*Easy gold: Accessory method*
*****************************

Still low on gold? Here's another method for you. Buy yarn balls from the
General Store and then craft them into Handknit Scarves. Sell it back for even
more profit. Lather, rinse, repeat, until you coat Fenith Island in platinum.

*****************
*Dashing and You*
*****************

There's a neat technique that moves your character forward a small distance,
but with a burst of speed. In order to pull this off, you have to press
A + C. If you do it properly, your character will lean forward and move a
short distance with a burst of speed. There'll be a sound that plays, too.

Travel-wise, this is useless. You can cover much more ground simply running.

Battle-wise, it's useful to dodge attacks at the last moment.

What really stands out to me about this technique, though, is that you can do
an instant dash attack with it. Instead of running for a few seconds and then
initiating a dash attack, you can simply move forward, dash, and then press
the attack button for a dash attack.

**************************
*Consecutive dash attacks*
**************************

While we're on the topic about dash attacks, it might be worth it for you to
know that you can pull off more than one dash attack in a row. For both the
Hammer and the Katana set of weapons, you can pull off 3 dash attacks in a
row. As far as I know, other types of weapons can't have their dash attacks be
done more than one time.

***********************
*Don't run; Iai Slash!*
***********************

Using our previous tip of consecutive dash attacks, it's time to not down one
of my preferred methods of traveling: Iai Slash chaining.

Iai Slash chaining is basically moving using primarily the Katana's dash
attack. By using three dash attacks in a row, you can cover more ground than
you could've covered while running. It keeps you on your toes and ready for
battle.

**********************************
*Escaping your fate with teleport*
**********************************

When you're trapped in an arena, don't forget that you can teleport yourself
out of harms way. This is useful for dungeons where you pull a lever and have
to backtrack, but get locked in by gates. Simply teleport out and go back into
the floor. So long as you don't have to cross the same area again, you should
be fine.

In addition, there are some circumstances where teleporting out completely

removes the arena altogether. The walls won't come back up and you won't be
trapped. However, I don't advise you to rely on this happening, since you want
to at least make sure you're not underleveled.

*******************
*Joe's second shop*
*******************

We all know about Joe's technique shop. However, did you know that Joe has a
second shop that sells monster drops? Most people don't seem to know about it,
which is understandable since it opens at a time where you're usually not
interested in shops. He opens his monster drop store on the day of the
Fireworks Festival (Summer 19).

On Summer 19, head to Joe's shop and check out his wares. He sells:

+FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS+
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

1: Q) What is *insert character's name here* bathing time/schedule?

A) To put it bluntly, I do not know. The bathing times for most of the
characters are pretty erratic, although they do have a certain slice
of time that they go into the bath and out. If you really want to know
there's a topic on the boards called "Bath Schedules Mini-Guide" made by
HitTheGroundWal. He and many others did some extensive research on this
topic and composed a nice summary of the bathing times.

2: Q) James disappeared from the island! What should I do?!

A) James regularly leaves the island once a week. He's a merchant. If you
don't see him that day, he should definitely be at the island the next.
3: Q) Beatrix abandoned Electra! Where did she go?!
A) Just like James, Beatrix leaves the island once a week to go treasure
hunting. Fear not and she shall return. As to WHY you want her on the
island in the first place... I won't even ask you.

4: Q) I'm missing *insert recipe book name here*. Where do I get it?
A) I'm planning on adding a section to the character area which shows the
requests they put up on the board and which recipes they give you. That
will take a bit since my main game already has all of the requests for
females done up to 9FP done, so... Just hang tight.

5: Q) Your FAQ needs a "Quick Search" option

A) No it doesn't. I've realized in my time of using FAQs/Walkthroughs on
Gamefaqs that "Quick Search" additions are unnecessary unless your guide
is, like, 200+KB big and you repeat certain keywords. One obvious
example is a Pokedex FAQ. I don't plan on making this guide larger than
150KB or even 100KB. Most keywords I used are barely even repeated. Long
story short, just ctrl+f the words you need and they should be there.

6: Q) May I put this FAQ on my site?

A) Unfortunately, due to personal issues, my Walkthrough is staying only on
GameFaqs. CNET affiliates also have permission, such as GameSpot, but
only if credit is also given to me. If you DO put this on your site
without my prior consent, I'll take every legal action available to take
it down. Don't try me.

7: Q) Your FAQ is missing *insert something here*/Your FAQ has *insert

information here* wrong, it's *insert correct information here*
A) Well don't just sit there. Send it to me via email. Just check the
Contact Information section. Just make sure you make yourself clear
since I'm still dealing with Iris Noire/Blanche stuff from RF: Frontier
