during the hymns this morning.

PRELUDE

Please stand as you are able

OPENING DIALOGUE: (Based on Psalm 118– The Message translation)
P Alleluia! Christ is risen!
All Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
P This is the day that the Lord has made;
All let us rejoice and be glad in it!
P Alleluia! Christ is risen!
All Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
P Thank God because he’s good, because his love never quits. Tell the
world, Israel,
All His love never quits.
P And you, clan of Aaron, tell the world,
All His love never quits.
P And you who fear God, join in,
All His love never quits.
P I was right on the cliff-edge, ready to fall, when God grabbed and held
me. God’s my strength, he’s also my song, and now he’s my
salvation.
All Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the
saved? “The hand of God has turned the tide! The hand of God
is raised in victory! The hand of God has turned the tide!

3
P I didn’t die. I lived! And now I’m telling the world what God did.
All God tested me, he pushed me hard, but he didn’t hand me over to
Death! Swing wide the city gates– the righteous gates! I’ll walk
right through and thank God! This temple Gate belongs to God,
so the victors can enter and praise.
P Thank you for responding to me; you’ve truly become my salvation!
The stone the masons discarded as flawed is now the capstone!
All This is God’s work. We rub our eyes – we can hardly believe it!
This is the very day God acted – let’s celebrate and rejoice.

OPENING SONG “Jesus Christ is Risen Today”

4
GREETING:
P Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
All Christ is Risen indeed! Alleluia!
P The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the commun-
ion of the Holy Spirit be with you all!
All And also with you.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY:

P The Lord be with you.
All And also with you.
P Let us pray. God of mercy, we no longer look for Jesus among the
dead, for he is alive and has become the Lord of life. Increase in our
minds and hearts the risen life we share with Christ, and help us to
grow as your people toward the fullness of eternal life with you,
through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
All Amen

SHARING THE PEACE:

P May Christ’s resurrection bring us peace anew with each other. May
the peace of the Lord be with you.
All And also with you.
P Let us greet one another joyfully with a gesture of peace.

Tell the Story!

FIRST READING: Isaiah 25:6-9
More than 700 years before Christ, the prophet Isaiah proclaims the good news of God’s
salvation and calls all people to rejoice! God will make a rich feast for all people. God will wipe
the tears from their eyes. And most importantly, God will destroy death itself.
On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples a feast of rich food,
a feast of well-aged wines, of rich food filled with marrow, of well-aged wines
strained clear. And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over
all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations; he will swallow up death
forever. Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces, and the
disgrace of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has
spoken.
It will be said on that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, so that he
might save us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited; let us be glad and
rejoice in his salvation .

SECOND READING: Acts 10: 34-43 (Message Bible)

Peter crosses the immense religious and social boundary that separates Jews from Gentiles in
order to proclaim the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, so that God’s
forgiveness in Jesus’ name would reach out to all people.

Peter fairly exploded with his good news: "It's God's own truth, nothing could be
plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where
you're from - if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open.
The Message he sent to the children of Israel - that through Jesus Christ
everything is being put together again - well, he's doing it everywhere, among
everyone. "You know the story of what happened in Judea. It began in Galilee
after John preached a total life-change. Then Jesus arrived from Nazareth,
anointed by God with the Holy Spirit, ready for action. He went through the
country helping people and healing everyone who was beaten down by the
Devil. He was able to do all this because God was with him. "And we saw it,
saw it all, everything he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem where they
killed him, hung him from a cross. But in three days God had him up, alive, and
out where he could be seen. Not everyone saw him - he wasn't put on public
display. Witnesses had been carefully handpicked by God beforehand - us!
We were the ones, there to eat and drink with him after he came back from the
dead. He commissioned us to announce this in public, to bear solemn witness
that he is in fact the One whom God destined as Judge of the living and dead.
But we're not alone in this. Our witness that he is the means to forgiveness of
sins is backed up by the witness of all the prophets."

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION “For All You’ve Done”

6
GOSPEL: Mark 16: 1-8
The resurrection of Jesus is announced, and the response is one of terror and amazement.
P The Holy Gospel according to Mark, the sixteenth chapter.
All Glory to you, O Lord.
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of
James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint [Jesus’
body]. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen,
they went to the tomb. They had been saying to one another, “Who will roll

7
away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?” When they looked up,
they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back.
As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe,
sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, “Do not
be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He
has been raised; he is not here. Look, there is the place they laid him. But
go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there
you will see him, just as he told you.” So they went out and fled from the
tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to
anyone, for they were afraid.
P The Gospel of the Lord.
All Praise to you, O Christ

HYMN OF THE DAY ……….Glorious Day (Living He Loved Me)

Verse 1: One day when heaven was filled with His praises
One day when sin was as black as could be
Jesus came forth to be born of a virgin
Dwelt among men my example is He
The Word became flesh
And the light shined among us
His glory revealed

Chorus 1: Living He loved me dying He saved me

Buried He carried my sins far away
Rising He justified freely forever
One day He's coming
O glorious day

Verse 2: One day they led Him up Calv'ry's mountain

One day they nailed Him to die on a tree
Suffering anguish despised and rejected
Bearing our sins my Redeemer is He
The hand that healed nations
Stretched out on a tree
And took the nails for me (chorus)
8
Verse 3: One day the grave could conceal Him no longer
One day the stone rolled away from the door
Then He arose over death He had conquered
Now is ascended my Lord evermore
Death could not hold Him
The grave could not keep Him
From rising again (chorus)

WE CALL TO GOD IN PRAYER

P Alive in the risen Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, we bring our
prayers before God who promises to hear us and answer in steadfast
love.
A brief silence.
P Praise to you for your power revealed in the resurrection! Fill your
church with the power of your love that is stronger than death. Send
us to tell the good news wherever death holds sway. Hear us, O God.
All Your mercy is great.
P Praise to you for your life at work in the resurrection! Fill all of creation
with your life. Bring it to blossom and flourish; use it to remind us of
your persistent grace. Cultivate our care for what you have made.
Hear us, O God.
All Your mercy is great.
P Praise to you for the peace made possible in the resurrection! Fill the
nations with your peace. Draw together people of all nations and
languages; reveal new possibilities and inspire new beginnings. Hear
us, O God.
All Your mercy is great.
P Praise to you for the hope of the resurrection! Fill all in need with
hope: those who are afraid or confused, those who are sick or
suffering, those who are dying, and those who grieve (especially).
Assure them of your promises. Hear us, O God.
All Your mercy is great.
P Praise to you for the joy of your resurrection! Fill this assembly with joy
as we are called your beloved in baptism. Multiply that joy so that we
share it at home, at work, and in our community. Hear us, O God.
All Your mercy is great.

9
Here other intercessions may be offered.
P Praise to you for your faithfulness revealed in the resurrection! Fill us
with trust, that we join with all who have gone before us in proclaiming:
“your mercy endures forever!” Hear us, O God.
All Your mercy is great.
P In the hope of new life in Christ, we raise our prayers to you, trusting in
your never-ending goodness and mercy; through Jesus Christ our
Lord.
Amen.

LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and
ever. Amen

Meal for Disciples

THE GREAT THANKSGIVING
P The Lord be with you
All And also with you
P Lift up your hearts
All We lift them to the Lord
P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
All It is right to give our thanks and praise
P It is indeed right, our responsibility and our joy, that we should at all
times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and
merciful God, for the glorious resurrection of our Savior Jesus Christ,
the true Paschal Lamb who gave himself to take away our sin; who in
dying has destroyed death, and in rising has brought us to eternal life.
And so, with Mary Magdalene and Peter and all the witnesses of the
resurrection, with earth and sea and all their creatures, and with an-
gels and archangels, cherubim and seraphim, we praise your name
and join their unending hymn:

10
Please remove your communion cup from your bag and
hold it up during the words of institution.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER (Prayer of blessing at the table)

P Holy God, you alone are holy, you alone are God. The universe de-
clares your praise: beyond the stars; beneath the sea; within each cell;
with every breath.
All We praise you, O God.
P Generations bless your faithfulness: through the water; by night and
day; across the wilderness; out of exile; into the future.
All We bless you, O God.
P We give you thanks for your dear Son: at the heart of human life; near
to those who suffer; beside the sinner; among the poor; with us now.
All We thank you, O God.
P In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and
gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:

11
Take and eat; this is my body, given for you.
Do this for the remembrance of me.
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to
drink, saying:
This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you
and for all people for the forgiveness of sin.
Do this for the remembrance of me.
Remembering his love for us on the way, at the table, and to the end,
we proclaim the mystery of faith:
All Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again.

P We pray for the gift of your Spirit: in our gathering; within this meal;
among your people; throughout the world. Blessing, praise, and
thanks to you, holy God, through Christ Jesus, by your Spirit, in your
church, without end.
All Amen.

INVITATION TO COMMUNION
You may receive communion by removing your mask and taking the bread
and juice. Please replace your mask as soon as you have partaken.

keep you in his grace.
All Amen
