This document outlines a final pitch for Burlington Animal Services. It begins by providing background on animal shelters. It then discusses challenges BAS faces, including that it isn't well known throughout Burlington based on interviews with 15 local residents. Research included interviews, surveys at a grocery store, literature review, and additional surveys. The pitch proposes a social media campaign using #DiamondInTheRuff to highlight animals finding homes and raise donations. Example posts for Instagram and Facebook are provided. Radio ads are also proposed, and analytics from similar shelters' radio spots are presented. The pitch closes by soliciting any questions.

Importance of Movement “An animal shelter or pound is a place where stray, lost, abandoned or surrendered animals – mostly dogs and cats – are housed. The word "pound" has its origins in the animal pounds of agricultural communities, where stray livestock would be penned or impounded until they were claimed by their owners.” Challenges Research ● Interviewed 15 people around Burlington ● Surveyed people at Harris Teeter ● Conducted a literature review Interview Conclusions ● Concluded that BAS isn’t too well known throughout Burlington ● 8 of the 15 people interviewed were familiar with it or had at least heard about it before Surveys Additional Research FIREPAW Survey BURLINGTON ANIMAL SERVICES #DiamondInTheRuff Example Social Media Post - Instagram Campaign burlingtonanimalservicesnc Its been one month since Shep came to us and with the help of the BAS staff he is happier than ever.
