Research Problem
A comparative study to assess the knowledge regarding child abuse among parents residing
in selected rural and urban areas of Jalandhar, Punjab, 2015.

Objectives
1. To assess the knowledge regarding child abuse among parents residing in selected
rural areas.
2. To assess the knowledge regarding child abuse among parents residing in selected
urban areas.
3. To compare the knowledge regarding child abuse among parents residing in selected
rural and urban areas.
4. To determine the association of knowledge regarding child abuse among parents
residing in selected rural areas with their selected socio-demographic variables.
5. To determine the association of knowledge regarding child abuse among parents
residing in selected urban areas with their selected socio-demographic variables.
6. To prepare and distribute pamphlets on child abuse on deficit areas.

PROGRESS REPORT II: During the month of October 2014 to January 2015.
 Chapter I: Introduction, Need of the study and conceptual frame work completed.
 Chapter II: Review of literature from various journals and networking has been done
e.g. Pubmed, Medline, Nightingale Nursing Times, British Journal of Psychiatry,
American journal of Nursing, Nurses of India related to knowledge regarding child
abuse among parents.
 Chapter III: Methodology, research design has been finalized.
 Tool development (Self-Structured Knowledge Questionnaire) completed.
 Pilot study: During the month of December 2015, Pilot study has been conducted
on 10 subjects & reliability was tested.
 Chapter IV: Final Data Collection done and Analysis & Interpretation under
progress.
 Chapter V: Discussion is under progress.
