ADMISSION TO M.SC. (DAY & EVENING)
 COURSES:  2019–2020  AGAINST VACANT SEATS

1. Any omission/error due to system should be brought to the notice of the

respective Head of the Department immediately.
2. All admissions are provisional.
3. Candidate will have to bring/submit the following at the time of counseling
and admission (if selected):
(a) Print-out of the submitted on-line application, (b) 2 copies of recent
passport-size photograph, (c) Original and attested copies of marksheets & Admit
Card/Certificate of Secondary level, Higher Secondary level Examinations and B.Sc.
Final Examination (Certificate, if available). (d) Original and attested copies of
SC/ST/PD/OBC-A/OBC-B Certificate from competent authority, if applicable, at the
time of interview, (e) Family income certificate from competent authority will be
required at the time of admission, (f) Online payment receipt, as a proof of depositing
the money and Admit Card of Written Admission Test, (g) Employed Candidates
Must Bring Original Joining Letter, Salary Certificate And N.O.C from Competent
Authority.

Note: 

1. As   per   circular   Nos.   BC­16014/1/82­SC   dt.06/08/1984   &  BCD­1,  D.O.12017/11/89­

SCD(R.CELL) dt.09/01/1990 and letter No.1510­SCW dt.31/05/2007 from the Government of West
Bengal, Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to
get the benefit of reserved quota in educational institutions in West Bengal, unless they can produce
a domicile certificate of 10­year residency issued by competent authority.

2. The candidates who will be provisionally selected under the OBC­ A and OBC­ B categories
must  produce an  OBC  certificate (the date of issue of the certificate should not  be earlier  than
2018) issued by the competent authority that clearly indicates (i) the category (A or B) they belong
to; (ii) that they do not belong to creamy layer of the society, at the time of counselling/ admission.

3. OBC­A and OBC­B candidates of the states other than West Bengal are not entitled to get the
benefit  of reserved  quota  in  educational  institutions  in West  Bengal,  unless  they  can  produce  a
domicile certificate of 10­year residency issued by competent authority.

4. If any candidate could not produce the non­creamy layer certificate at the time of admission,
a ten (10) days time at the most will be given to the candidate to produce the same.  otherwise
his/her admission may be denied.

4. THE SEATS WILL BE FILLED UP IN ORDER OF MERIT FROM PUBLISHED

PROVISIONAL WAITING LISTS.

IF A CANDIDATE FAILS TO APPEAR FOR COUNSELING ON THE SPECIFIED DATE

AND TIME THE CANDIDATURE WILL BE CANCELLED.

6. FEES FOR ADMISSION: Rs. 2200/- for M.Sc.(Day) Courses and Rs. 3600/- for M.Sc.(Evening)
Courses.
7. For further details contact with the respective Head of the Departments.
8. Ragging is totally banned in the Jadavpur University Campuses including hostel
premises and anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging is liable to be
punished appropriately. If any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authority,
the concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his explanation is not
found satisfactory, the authority would expel him from the institution.
9. Moreover, selected students and his/her father/guardian will be required to submit an
Anti-Ragging Affidavit.
