Answer Sheet 7.1: Describing Horizontal and Vertical Projectile [page 4]

A: Draw the path of the following:
1. Horizontally Launched Projectile B. Vertically Launched Projectile

B. Answer the following Questions:

1. Why are you going to use the y-equation when solving a vertical path in a projectile?
I can use the y-equation when solving a vertical path because it determines the measurements of the verical distance of a
projectile.

2. If you drop something form flying plane, what makes the object follows a curve path before reaching the ground?
The object you threw will go on a horizontal line, then it will slowly descend due to the force of gravity.

3. When you throw a stone up in the air:

The stone goes up vertically in the air, then it descends on the ground fast due to the gravity.

a.)describe the velocity of the stone as it goes upward and when it goes downward.
The trajectory of the stone when it goes upward is a little slow, but as it descends to the ground it goes faster due to the
force of gravity.

b.)At what angle will you throw if you want the stone to land away from you?
The angle where I will throw the stone to land far away from me is in a horizontal way.

4. Can you shoot a ball to the ring without having a trajectory? Yes/No Why?
No, because every projectile has a trajectory.

C: Solve for the following Horizontally and Vertically Launched Projectile (Show the Given, Find and the Solution)
1. The American pilot drop the atomic bomb from the 2. The gulf player smashed the ball at 42 degrees and the

a.)How many seconds does the bomb stays in the air? (b) How far away does it land?
b.) How far from Hiroshima to the point where the pilot (c) How high does it travel?
drop the bomb?

IFLL: The Path of Our Connection to God.

1._(small illustration only) It slowly goes up and it descends really fast because of the sin we commit, then it goes back up slowly again.
2. Because no matter how we try to straighten our line of relationship with God, we would fall to the clutches of sin
because it is our nature to commit sin.
3. Yes, I do have experiences, once you have an ephiphany about God and you start to feel like you will serve him, but
one day you will always fall back to the starting point of knowing God.
4. The common reason why people’s spiritual life still go down because of sin, sin is always what keeps us down, far from
God.
5. What I should do to avoid my relationship with God as a parabola by always keeping our mind to be God’s servant.

Answer Sheet 7.2 Investigating Angle of Release to the Height and Range of Projectile [page 4]
Procedure:
1. Go to an open space.
2. You need slipper or a box to be used for throwing.
3. Investigate the effect of the angle of release to the height and range of projectile by throwing the slippers in different
angles. Follow the arrow in picture below.
4. Measure the height and range of the different throws and write the data in the blank provided. (Range is the distance
from your position to the landing position of the object you throw.
5. Answer the guide questions below.

Process Question 7.2

1. How does the angle of release affect the range of the projectile?
The angle of release affects the range of the projectiles by how high or low the height of the slipper is thrown. If it is too
low or too high the slipper gets a little distance on how far it went.
2. Why does the overhead throw makes the shortest range of all the projectiles?
The reason why the overhead throw makes the shortest range of all the projectiles, because the projectile’s target is at
x-axis, and it did not give much forces to the y-axis.
3. Which throw got the farthest range?
The throw that got the farthest range was the above chest.
4. Which throw got the highest altitude?
The throw that got the highest altitude was the overhead throw.
5. You’re your own summary from the activity.
The projectile’s distance can change depending on how it was thrown. If it is too high or low, the distance and range may
vary, but the range is very near. So in order to get the proper amount of range and height of the projectile, we must focus on
the x-axis and y-axis distance.

Activity 7.3: Vehicular Collisions [page 6]

A: Study the figure and answer the questions given.

Vios (Toyota) Lancer (Mitsubishi)

Process Question 7.3
1. What do you see in the picture?
What I see in the picture is that two cars were involved in a collision.
2. How does vehicular collision become the cause of death in most cases along the highways?
The main cause of death of vehicular collision is always alcohol intoxication or distractions in roads.
3. What is the cause why collided vehicles will usually experience great damage?
The cause on why the collided vehicles usually experience great damage is that it is driving at very high speed.
4. What will happen if two vehicles running at the same speed collide but one vehicle is smaller than the other?
What will happen to the two vehicle running at the same speed, but the other vehicle is smaller than the other is that the
smaller vehicle will be very damaged.
5. Relate what will be the effect of collision if two vehicles have the same impulse but different momentum?
The effect of the collision if two vehicles have the same impulse, but different momentum is that is that the vehicle with a lot
of mass will not be damaged,
B: Solve the following problems (Show the Given, and the Solution)
1. If the Vios is 1,023 kg including all the passenger and runs 2. If the Lancer is 723 kg and its velocity is 21 m/s, how
at the speed of 27 m/s. How much momentum does the much force does it give during the collision? (F=m∙a)

Given: Needed: Given: Needed:
M = 1,023 kg or 1.23 ton P=? M = 723 kg F=?
V = 27 m/s A = 21 m/s

Solution: Solution:
P = (m) (v) F = (m) (a)
P = (1,023) (27) F = (723) (21)
P = 27,621 kg m/s F = 15,183 kg m/s

Mini-Task 7.4 Activities that demonstrate conservation of Mechanical Energy. [page 6]

Procedure: Choose one of the following activities shown, (or you can add your own choice) to perform and
explain how the said activities demonstrate conservation of Mechanical energy.

Task: If you can go out to the children’s playground, use the swing. But if you cannot, just use a mini pendulum buy tying an
object to a string or rope. Or if you have a marble or any round object, you can use it on a curve surface or by hanging
directly to a bar.
To perform the task, slightly move your body, or if you chose the object, move the object back and forth to start the motion.
When you are in the motion, demonstrate how mechanical energy is conserve. Use the report sheet for your answer.

Report Sheet

Type of Activity/Object: Swingset/swing

Guide Questions:
1. What energy allows your body or the object keeps moving? The energy that it allows the swing to move was kinetic
energy.

2. Which type of energy pushes your body or the object to move against the pull of gravity? The energy that pushes my
body against the pull of gravity is the potential energy.
3. How can you say that there is a conservation of mechanical energy in that activity? I can say that there was a
conversion of mechanical energy by how the swing was moved.
3. Did you really perform the activity honestly? (yes/No) Yes, I did, I performed the activity when we went to a park in my
cousin’s birthday.
Summary: (Write a summary on your demonstration)
I went to the swing, I ask someone to push me at their might so I can go very high, then I was rocking back and forth at a
fast speed, then as time passes, it slows down a little time until it stopped.

IFLL: Work Power and Energy

1. The other work that God bestow upon us is a power that comes from the Holy Spirit.
2. The power that we are going to receive is the power of the Holy Spirit, and that will come from God.

Performance Activity
“Projectile Motion in Action”
Directions:
1. Refer to the instruction and the example written at the last page on your module.
2. The illustration must be drawn by hand. You can take picture of your drawing and paste it below if you use another page.
3. Make your illustration clean and clear. Stick man is ALLOWED as long as it’s detailed and presentable. Always make the
path of the trajectory visible in your illustration.
