HAZARD IDENTIFICATION AND

CONTROL RECOMMENDATIONS
1.

Hazard identification : As we can see in the given figures , stray wood materials , paper cuttings and
packaging materials are lying on the ground here and there, also electric cables can be seen lying on the
ground which may result in slip trip and fall. Moreover , due presence of electric cable there may be
sparking which can lead to fire and burning of those combustible solids. It may also result in electric
shock if anyone is passing by due to faulty cables.

Recommended control measures: following measures can be recommended:

1. there should be proper housekeeping of the area.


2. damaged electrical cables should be replaced immediately.

3. metal stand can be used on corner of the wall to arrange the electrical cable so that the passage
becomes free from cable.

4. if the work is going on at the instant then area can be barricaded and proper signage to be put for free
movement.

Hazard identification: As it can be seen in the given figure , edge or opening of the floor is not protected
permanently or even temporarily. It may result in fall of workers from height on the ground , it may also
result in fall of materials or tools . also no safety net is not present on ground area for secondary
protection.

Recommended control measures :

1. there should be proper edge protection system to be erected.

2. safety net can be installed if it is not possible to erect permanent grating sheet .

3. if above not possible , then it can be barricaded properly and signage of caution can be erected there.
Hazard identification : Scaffolding is not properly erected , there is no sole board, sole plate and also
the surface is not properly leveled , the material of scaffold is also of poor quality. These may result in
ultimate collapse of scaffold leading to fall of materials, workers.

Recommended control measures :

1. proper SOP for erection of scaffold has to be followed .

2. damaged scaffold materials should be replaced.

3. proper tagging should be provided to scaffold structures.

4. soil or ground to be properly leveled before scaffold erection.


4. Safe practice/ condition

Comment:

Presence of safety quotations on the worksite can positively aware the workers over there and can
encourage them to follow the safety rules and guidelines , to not only protect themselves but also their
co-workers . this may contribute to spread of positive culture across the workplace.
5. safe practice/ good practice

Comment:

The grinder machine has been properly inspected upon purchase and is fit to use, this is evident from
the presence of inspection (green) tag over there . it is a safe practice to inspect any tools or instrument
upon purchasing or before using it.
