Integrating the SWOT Analysis with Sigma Six:

Abstract
Purpose- The paper purposes to provide a review integrating SWOT Analysis with Sigma Six to
ensure businesses develop better strategies in order to improve their market share, profitability,
production and promotion. The paper further seeks to expound on how business can integrate
SWOT analysis with Sigma Six to solve some of the problems encountered when conducting
business operations.
Design/ methodology/ approach- The paper is based on a comprehensive literature review of
the SWOT analysis and Six Sigma. The literature review provides the basis for a new integration
framework that is grounded on the Plan‐Do‐Check‐Act cycle.
Findings- The study shows results in the finding section by analyzing the information provided
by past literature. The literature review expounds on how the integration of SWOT Analysis with
Lean Six Sigma can advance the company’s market share, profit, promotion strategies and
production. The section provides an explanation about the possibility of integrating SWOT
Analysis with Lean Six Sigma, the strategies provided by the two components and the benefit of
the integration.
Practical implications- The study intends to become useful in both the academic purposes and
business practitioners. The paper provides information on the integrating the SWOT analysis
with Lean Six Sigma and the strategies the two components framework that can serve as a
basis for the integration of Six Sigma with the SWOT Anaysis.

Originality/value- There are literature on SWOT Analysis and Six Sigma, however, in this
paper provides little research has been carried out on the integration of the SWOT with Six
Sigma. The key contribution of this paper is that it provides new insights in understanding
how the SWOT Analysis can be integrated with Six Sigma.
