Advanced: Reading Comprehension

We all want to find a car that fits our tastes, needs, and budget.
So how do you successfully do this? The following article is
devoted to helping you select a car at a price that’s right for you.

If you examine your needs, rather than your wants, you will
quickly discover what kind of car is best for you. Take a moment
to think about what you mainly use your car for. How many
people do you need to transport? How long is your commute?

Often, people choose a car for its style or because it’s a trendy
favorite. If you do, you might exceed your budget or have to go
car shopping again soon.

Regardless of whether you decide to buy or lease your next car,

establishing a realistic monthly payment that fits into your
budget is crucial. The rule of thumb is that your monthly car
payment shouldn't exceed 20 percent of your monthly take-
home pay.

Advanced: Reading Discussion

20 percent of their monthly take-home pay. Do you think that
this is realistic or not? Explain.
