What is E-Communication?
E-communication, or electronic communication, refers to the transfer of writing, signals, data,
sounds, images, signs or intelligence sent via an electronic device.

Purposes of E-Communication
Electronic communications lets you combine numerous media - text, graphics sound, video, etc.
- into a single message. That can result in far more meaningful communications tailored to the
nature of your particular audience.

Types of E-Communication
There are many different types of electronic communication including but not limited to: email,
social media newsgroups, chat rooms, video conferencing, instant messaging, phone and fax.
Email via the widely used internet is popular because people are able to write short messages,
receive quick responses and include photographs or reports with formatted data quickly and
efficiently.

Using E-Mail for school work

With email, never before has it been so easy for your students to reach you. If they have a
question or need to let you know that they’ll be absent, they can simply send a quick message.
It’s a great way for you to provide them with information as well. You can send out
announcements to everyone in the class or provide individual feedback on essays.

Advantages and Disadvantages of E-Communication

Electronic communication is fast, cost-effective and convenient, but these attributes contain
inherent disadvantages. The technology that enables people to keep in touch at all times also can
invade privacy and cut into valuable relaxation time.

5 emerging technologies in 2019

1. Robotics
2. Biometrics
3. 3D printing
4. Drones
5. Blockchain

7 Factors you must consider while selecting communication systems for office
1. Quickness/Speed
There are many types of transactions conducted during the business hours. One must speed up
the transmission of message on the basis of importance and urgency of transaction.
:2. Accuracy

If the accuracy of the message is the prime motive, a letter will serve the purpose Telephonic
conversation might be misheard by the other party.
3.Safety
There is always risk when valuables are sent by post. Therefore, for safety purposes, important
documents may be sent by registered post; for further safety by registered and insured post.
4. Secrecy
In business field, certain transactions have to be kept confidential. When one aims at secrecy,
letter will achieve the aim. In other communication systems, secrecy may leak out to unwanted
persons.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
5. Record
Record of the message is essential and is possible only if it is in writing. For this purpose,
duplicate copies of the letters can be preserved and they are good proof against disputes, relating
to the transaction, in future. There is no record for oral communication.
6. Cost
The cost of communication is also important. Before adopting any system, the expenses in
different means may also be considered. The material cost (stationery) and labour cost in
preparing the letter will also be considered.
ADVERTISEMENTS:
7. Distance
Distance between the persons who are parties to communication is an important factor. If
distance is too short, face to face communication is suitable. If there is distance, message can be
transmitted through phone or telegram or letter.

List of emerging technologies

5G
After years of anticipation, 5G is finally here and expected to roll out on a wider scale in 2019.
5G is the fifth generation of cellular mobile communications, following the 4G (LTE/WiMax),
3G (UMTS), and 2G (GSM) systems. 5G represents a fundamental shift in communication
network architectures, promising more bandwidth with lower latency. Theoretically, 5G can be
20 times faster than 4G! It should also increase data rates, improve connection density, reduce
latency and strengthen connection security all-around.

SD-WAN
SD-WAN is a software-defined wide area network, an application of software-defined
networking technology that simplifies WAN (Wide Area Network) management by decoupling
network hardware from control mechanisms. Conventional network architectures were not built
for the demands of a cloud-first workplace, and SD-WAN enables easier access to cloud
applications for geographically-distributed offices and a mobile workforce. It allows enterprises
to build higher-performance WANs using lower-cost commercial Internet access.
