ASSIGNMENT #5
We know what it takes to end problems told in assignment #4. The solutions are highlighted below.

1) SOLUTION TO HOMELESSNESS:
HOUSING (Short Term)

Thriving communities need enough housing that is affordable and equitably available to people
across a full range of incomes—from young adults just starting out to seniors who want to spend
their remaining years feeling secure. That includes expanding access to housing affordable to
people who are at risk of or are experiencing homelessness.

Strategies

 Promote development of an expanded supply of safe and affordable rental

homes through federal, state, and local efforts and investments. This includes assisting
communities that are working to adopt policies to expand overall housing supply and to project
the scale of affordable housing units—including units that are affordable to people exiting
homelessness and units that are accessible to persons with disabilities—needed to meet local
demand on an ongoing basis..
 Encourage collaboration between public housing agencies, multi-family housing
owners, and homelessness services systems, and promote guidance on how public housing
agencies and multi-family housing owners can adopt admissions preferences and successfully
house people exiting homelessness.

BUILD CAREER PATHWAYS (Long Run)

One of the most effective ways to support individuals as they move out of homelessness and
into permanent housing is increasing access to meaningful and sustainable career training and
employment pathways. Programs designed to connect people to career pathways need to be
accessible and responsive to people who have experienced homelessness and employment
strategies need to be coordinated with housing and other interventions.
Strategies

 Coordinate employment services with housing and homelessness assistance to ensure

that job development and training strategies focus attention on people who are experiencing or
most at risk of homelessness and support their long-term housing stability.
 Develop and disseminate best practices on helping people with histories of
homelessness and barriers to employment enter the workforce, including strategies that take into
consideration transportation, child care, child support, domestic violence, criminal justice
history, disabling conditions, limited work experience, and age appropriateness.

2) Solution to Feudalism
The solution of the feudalism is to create awareness in the people of rural areas about their rights.
We have to educate those people in a way that they are not the slave of the landlord. They have
own right of living and they have the right to produce different types of crops on the lands and
get their desired money.

3) Solution to Iletracy:
The solution of that root cause is that government should make a law about the compulsory
education for all the people in the country. By educating them, they came to know about the
modern methods of the agriculture. In this way, the produce the best quality of the crops and
vegetables and they get the enough money to run their home’s income easily.

4) Solution to Lack of Awareness:

COVID-19 has now become a pandemic and has adversely affected the whole world. The whole
world is in a severe crisis and the whole world is suffering. The virus is highly contagious and
spreads through social and physical interaction.

People in Pakistan are not truly aware of the graveness of the situation in the times of this
COVID-19 Global pandemic. People are still roaming out casually and the streets of Karachi still
present a sight of just another normal day.
In the time of this crisis, we are responsible through our actions to improve this situation
somehow. We cannot go out and provide physical help to people because of the nature of the
situation. The plan I came up revolves around creating awareness among people about COVID-
19. Many people are still going out and are having social interactions because they are totally
unaware of the severity of the contagiousness of the virus.

My plan consists of the following strategies in order to spread awareness;

SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS

• Print brochures from home containing important guidelines and hand it out to
underdeveloped people near my home and tell them to spread it among other people as well.

• Ask the management of the mosque of my apartment to voice out a message, telling
people to stay at home.

LONG TERM SOLUTIONS

• Use the social media platform to spread this message.

• Make a YouTube channel to make videos about awareness and health hazards caused by
the virus and then promote those videos through various platforms and channels so it can reach
to the common man who is unaware.

5) Solution to Lack of Earnings Opportunities:

SHORT TERM SOLUTION
The short term solution is that we collect donation for them and provide them with ration so that
they and their family don’t starve. Just like the prime minister fund that was released in which
these vendors and daily wagers were given 12 thousand rupees to fulfil their needs.

LONG TERM SOLUTION

Right now what we can do is that people will not get out of their houses now. So we can select a
head vendor of an area. For example if Gulshan iqbal has a head vendor who is sitting at the top
the hierarchy and all the other vendors work under him. Everyone can contact that head vendor
and that he can send the vendors closer to the delivery location to provide the food. By doing this
people will not have to leave their house to buy things and the daily wagers can earn so that they
have something to feed their family.

Some other long term solution are:

● Birth control.
● Domesticated diets.
● Proximity based businesses.
● Furthering e-commerce and developing user skills fir daily wagers.
● Localize kitchen gardening.

6) Solution to Communication Gap:

Short Term Solution:
We should avoid assuming that next person whom we are talking to knows everything what
we know. We all have different sets of information and understanding because we all have
varied experiences and knowledge. When explaining something to another person, you
can’t assume they know everything you know. This is especially important when the people
involved have dissimilar levels of technical experience or aren’t working in the same field. If
you’ve ever tried to teach a nontechnical person how to use a laptop or a smartphone, you
know that you can’t assume they’ll understand your instructions without extra help. To avoid
these gaps, you need to drop down to “meet them where they are,” rather than assuming
they have a significant base of knowledge. In fact, you may need to establish what their
knowledge is on the subject or concept before diving into any of the details.

Long Term Solution:

There should be workshops in every school or education institutes for these kind of people, they
must speak to new people, they must not be introverted, they should speak up in public so that
there confidence raise up and they can freely speak to anyone but at the end we dont have skilled
staff, we dont have better educational institutes mostly in rural areas so first we should work on
making educational institutions worth and then automatically many of the problems we are
facing, our people are facing can be cured easily.
