Abstract :
This thesis explores the ―nature of the relationship‖ that fashion
design and architecture might have. It somehow focuses on the
social dimension of architecture and fashion design and how it
affects the users in society under the effect of time, technology,
art, science and culture. For centuries, both architecture and
fashion design have been used by people in order to provide a
shelter for themselves. This is the most visible and logical
relationship that these two fields share. On the other hand, there
are many techniques, concepts and discourses that these two
profession share. These techniques are such as folding, pleating,
twisting, and many more. In addition, there are many examples
that show the effect of one field on the other one.. Many
architects are inspired by a garment to design a building and it is
the same in the other way round. So this study explores if these
two fields have any effect on each other; and if they do, how
those effects are reflected on the end product.
