11th Grade Best Work Reflective Essay

Out of many assignments I did in 11th grade I would say that my report on Rett

Syndrome is one of my best work. It was assigned to me in my AP Bio class. We were

all supposed to pick a random genetic disease or mutation. The main goal of the

assignment was to do research but have to be a minimum of a thousand words.

I accepted the fact that this will be one of the longest reports I will write since I

usually write up to 2 pages but this assignment ends up being four pages long. I had to

use two different websites to help get the information along with adding an image of a

family tree with the genetic mutation. During the process I had a hard time to reach a

thousand words but I wanted to have a big informative essay like no other work I

previously done but I manage to find ways to expand on the subject. I may not have

reached a thousand words but I had more than 800 words that’s already an

achievement in my opinion.

This assignment has brought many challenges that I have never faced before that

caused me to improvise while writing a paper with all the information available. I never

thought writing one of the longest essays will show me skills that I can better improve

upon the next time this happens. This showed me that I need to try to plan the format

along with having more resources to avoid any struggles I come across. Even though I

didn't make it to a thousand words, my teacher is still okay with what I got when I turned

in the assignment. I will never forget what the assignment put me through that showed

me useful skills that will come in handy later on.
