Emma McAdam
INT. BEDROOM - DAY
EMMA, 17, in pajamas bounces her leg up and down.
Her heart pounds as she tries to catch her breath.

Tears start to form in the corners of her eyes.


She pushes herself out of her chair and out of her room.
EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD - DAY

She walks around the neighborhood with her dog.


Her heart continues to pound as she struggles with her
anxiety.

EXT. BACKYARD - DAY


Emma wraps her hands for boxing.
She begins to hit a punching bag lightly.

Images flash of ????


She hits the punching bag harder and harder until she hurts
her hand.
She clutches her hand and leans against the punching bag,
breathing heavy, and closes her eyes.
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
Emma rolls out a yoga mat and lays down.

She takes deep breaths, in through the nose and out through
the mouth.
Her heart still pounds, but begins to slow down.
Eventually, she can breathe easy and her leg stops shaking.

She lets out one final breath and covers her eyes with her
hands.
INT. KITCHEN - DAY

Emma takes out a pan and eggs and begins to cook

INT. BEDROOM - DAY


Emma sits at her desk and does homework.
She chews on the tip of her pen and her eyes glaze over.

She stops chewing and stares of into space.


She tries and fails to resume her work, then picks up her
phone.

She moves from her desk to her bed and curls up under the
blanket.
INT. BEDROOM - SUNSET
Emma continues to scroll on her phone, shifting positions
ever so often.
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Emma slowly blinks her eyes closed and drops her phone

EXT. FIELD - DAY (DREAM)


Emma opens her eyes and stares at the sky.
She sits up and glances over her shoulder.

She walks through the field and runs her hands along the
tall weeds.
She tilts her face up towards the sun as it shines on her
face.

INT. BEDROOM - SUNRISE


She blinks her eyes open and stares into her room.
She rubs her hand on her forehead and picks up her phone.

She sighs and looks at the door of her room.


She attempts to get out of bed, but cannot.
She struggles, until she ultimately gives up and picks up
her phone again.

INT. BEDROOM - LATE MORNING


Emma finally drags herself out of bed and walks out of her
room.
INT. BATHROOM - DAY
She stares at her reflection and her reflection stares back.

She picks up a brush and begins to run it through her hair.


She sighs and puts her hair into a bun.
INT. BEDROOM - DAY

Emma walks back into her room and sits at her desk.
She picks up her pen and attempts to do homework.
As she chews on her pen she taps her foot on the floor,
tears begin to pool in her eyes.

She throws down the pen and flops onto her bed.
INT. LIVING ROOM - DAY
Emma grabs her keys, a sweater, and some shoes.

She writes a note on a whiteboard and walks out the front


door.
INT. CAR - DAY

Emma sits in her car and rests her head against the steering
wheel.
She slams her hands against the wheel and puts the key into
the ignition.

INT. LOOK OUT - SUNSET


Emma pulls into the parking lot of a look out point.
She turns off the car and stares out at the view.

All of a sudden she screams at the top of her lungs, tears


stream down her face.
She gets out the car and slams the door.

She slides against her car door and onto the ground.
She turns her face towards the sun as tears glisten in the
fading sunlight.

As the light fades, she picks herself up and off the ground.
She gets back into her car and drives off.
INT. BEDROOM - SUNRISE

Emma opens her eyes and checks her phone.


She lies face up on her bed and sighs.
She attempts to get out of bed, but struggles.

She takes a few deep breaths and forces herself out of bed.
