Question: Student lists out “Where is CO2 created and in which processes?”

1. In human’s body and plant:

− Carbon dioxide is made in our bodies as cells do their jobs. The lungs and
respiratory system allow oxygen in the air to be taken into the body, while
also letting the body get rid of carbon dioxide in the air breathed out. In
addition, during the process of photosynthesis, cells use carbon
dioxide and energy from the Sun to make sugar molecules and oxygen. ...
Then, via respiration processes, cells use oxygen and glucose to synthesize
energy-rich carrier molecules, such as ATP, and carbon
dioxide is produced as a waste product.

2. In atmosphere:
− Carbon dioxide added to the atmosphere naturally when organisms respire
or decompose (during the processes of decay of organic materials and the
fermentation of sugars in bread, beer and wine making). Carbon dioxide is
also added to the atmosphere through human activities, such as the
burning of fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum and natural gas and forests
and the production of cement.
