LESSON 2

DIRECTION: Watched a video of Oxana and answer the following questions with at least one paragraph. 5
points each.

1. Is it possible that feral child could also happen to Philippines?

Yes, it is possible since there may be parents that do not give proper
treatment and do not show responsibility towards their child, which may
result to the following: the child feeling left out and looking for a place that
she may consider as "home" and "Family", not learning the basics of being a
human, and isolation from all human interaction.

2. Can Oxana can get back to her normal behavior? Why or why not?
There may only be a degree that Oxana returns to her human behavior, but in
terms of intellectually, she may never develop her brain. It was said in the
YouTube video that by the time she was 22, her brain capacity was only for
a 5-year-old.

3. What treatment can be efficient to Oxana?

It was stated in the video that psychologists believe that she will never be
able to catch up. This was due to her having a lack of human contact for
many years of her life to the extent that she was not able to learn any
basic human skills at all.

4. Compare and contrast and explain nature vs. nurture using Venn diagram.

5. Are we a product of nature or nurture? Choose one and justify your answer.
In my opinion, we are a product of nurture. I believe that our future depends
on the environment that we grow up in. Whether we would develop the traits
that we picked up in that environment, or choose the environment that we
are comfortable in. People get used to where they are and their situation
thus inheriting various traits.
